The role of Director of Revenue Management at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is pivotal to driving the hotel’s financial success and sustaining its competitive edge in a dynamic market. This strategic leadership position is responsible for driving overall hotel profitability by developing, implementing, and continuously refining innovative pricing, distribution, and inventory strategies that span both room sales and food & beverage revenue streams. The Director will use data-driven insights and market analysis to optimize revenue generation and outperform competitor benchmarks. Operating within a large and complex hotel environment, the Director will collaborate closely with various departments including Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure aligned efforts aimed at growing top-line revenue while maintaining strong profit margins.

In this role, the Director of Revenue Management will lead the creation of comprehensive revenue strategies that balance occupancy, rates, and profitability to maximize total hotel revenue. They will strategically evaluate pricing structures, analyze demand trends, and oversee inventory management to maintain optimal yield. By conducting in-depth market trend analyses and competitor performance reviews, the Director will identify growth opportunities and direct targeted marketing initiatives to solidify the hotel’s market position. Additionally, the role involves leading revenue analytics functions to produce actionable insights and detailed reports that inform strategic decisions. Forecasting is a critical component, where the Director will generate both short- and long-term revenue projections to support budgeting, planning, and business goal development.

This position also entails cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams to align promotional strategies, group pricing, and distribution tactics with overall revenue goals. Beyond strategy and analysis, the Director will play a key role in leadership and team development, guiding revenue management staff including analysts and managers. The salary range for this position is $189,000 to $236,300, with exact compensation determined based on individual experience and training levels. This role requires the candidate to be located in San Diego and offers the potential for a hybrid working model depending on experience and business needs. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in hotel revenue management preferably within a large or complex property
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful revenue strategies that drive measurable results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with Excel expertise strongly preferred
  • Experience with revenue management systems is a plus
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive revenue management strategies to maximize total hotel revenue including rooms and food & beverage
  • Continuously evaluate pricing structures demand patterns and distribution channels to ensure competitive positioning and optimal yield
  • Effectively manage hotel inventory to balance occupancy rate and profitability
  • Analyze market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities to gain market share
  • Execute rational data-driven pricing strategies supported by targeted marketing initiatives
  • Lead revenue analytics functions producing actionable reporting and insights to guide strategic decisions
  • Produce accurate short- and long-term revenue forecasts to support budgeting planning and goal setting
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop initiatives that align with revenue goals and market demand
  • Provide strategic guidance on promotions group pricing and distribution tactics
  • Lead mentor and develop revenue management team members including analysts and managers
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability innovation and continuous improvement
  • Ensure best practices and standards are consistently applied across the team
