Job Description
SSP America is a leading global operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations, specializing in creating dynamic and memorable food experiences for passengers. With a footprint spanning airports, railway stations, and other travel venues, SSP America prides itself on its commitment to exceptional quality, innovative concepts, and outstanding customer service. The company has built a strong reputation in the foodservice industry by harmonizing global best practices with local preferences to deliver a wide range of cuisines and brands. Its workforce is united by a passion for hospitality and the drive to excel in fast-paced, demanding environments. The company also emphasizes career growth and development opportunities for its employees, fostering a supportive and inclusive culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
Currently, SSP America is offering a rewarding opportunity for a Director of Operations at the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). This position is suited for a high-energy professional capable of managing multiple facets of restaurant operations in an airport setting. Offering a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 annually with the potential for quarterly and year-end bonuses, this role promises a blend of financial incentives and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and a 401K plan with company match.
As the Director of Operations, you will oversee a team that includes management and hourly employees, ensuring that all operational aspects meet stringent food quality, safety, and brand standards. Responsibilities include leading the introduction of new products and promotional programs, driving training initiatives, conducting routine quality audits, managing finances and personnel, and implementing strategic procedures to optimize costs and maximize profitability. Collaboration with the Regional Vice President and Area Director of Operations will be essential to developing innovative strategies for the long-term success of the locations you manage.
This role requires robust financial oversight, comprehensive understanding of food service operations, and strong leadership skills to influence and develop team members at all levels. You will be deeply involved in people development, succession planning, merchandising standards, office management functions such as payroll, inventory, and budgeting, all while maintaining compliance with company policies and governmental food safety regulations. The environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and offers significant opportunities for career advancement within one of the largest restaurant operators globally.
If you possess a background in full-service or quick-service restaurant general management, preferably with airport concessions experience, and thrive on steering high-performance teams toward excellence, this position will allow you to leverage your expertise fully. SSP America encourages applicants who are proactive, detailed-oriented, and committed to excellence in hospitality and food service operations.
Joining SSP America means becoming part of an inclusive and equal opportunity employer that values diversity and provides reasonable accommodations during the hiring process. You will have the chance to work at the intersection of travel and food service, bringing joy and quality service to thousands of travelers daily, while advancing your career in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
