The District Manager position within the Portfolio Group is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple operational units within a geographic district generating between $12 million and over $30 million in revenue. This role requires a visionary leader capable of providing strategic direction, planning, and control to optimize growth, manage costs, ensure productivity, and sustain financial performance. The District Manager leads with accountability, focusing on key performance indicators such as revenue growth, EBIT, margins, consumer satisfaction, client loyalty, and employee engagement to drive success.

The role demands frequent travel across the district to visit client sites, ensuring operational excellence and client relationship management. This includes mentoring and coaching unit managers and staff, implementing corporate standards, managing financial budgets, and recognizing top talent within the team. The District Manager must be adept at balancing operational efficiency with customer service excellence, complying with safety and regulatory requirements, and supporting new business development and client retention initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 5-10 years proven leadership experience with P&L responsibility
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, facilities management, direct store delivery or food and beverage industries
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel frequently across the district
  • Proven ability to manage multiple sites and client relationships
  • Demonstrated capacity for leading teams and developing talent
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to interpret and implement contract requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience typically over 5-10 years including P&L responsibility in hospitality, retail, facilities, direct store delivery or food and beverage industries
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with broad management knowledge and business judgment
  • Ability to hire, assess, develop and grow talent
  • Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills across all organizational levels
  • Proven success in repeatable business models including leading through change and turnaround initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Establish overall ownership and accountability of operational management and financial performance of multiple accounts and units
  • Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence

  • Lead managers in implementing labor and financial initiatives
  • Ensure value through cost control and profit management
  • Enforce Aramark’s operating standards and efficiency guidelines
  • Understand supply chain and procurement processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, wage, and hour regulations
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees
