The role of Director of Operations at Wingstop is essential for maintaining and elevating the standards that the brand is known for across multiple restaurant locations. This full-time leadership position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 annually, reflecting the significant responsibilities involved. The Director of Operations is tasked with overseeing up to seven District Managers, who in turn manage various restaurants under their districts. This role is highly strategic and hands-on, requiring collaboration with senior leadership including the Vice President of Operations, Managing Partners, and others at the Home Office. Responsibilities include enforcing brand standards, fostering strong leadership, enhancing team performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction across all locations.
In this position, you will direct initiatives that promote operational consistency, food safety, and compliance with health regulations ensuring all outlets maintain top-tier Department of Health scores. You will also manage financial performance metrics to optimize sales growth and profitability. The Director plays a vital role in recruiting, training, and developing restaurant leadership, cultivating a workforce that embodies Wingstop's values and delivers legendary guest experiences. A strong on-site presence, particularly during peak periods like dinner and weekends, is essential to support and lead restaurant teams in real time.
Additionally, this leadership role involves overseeing the Corporate Scorecard's implementation as a strategic tool to drive accountability and reward top-performing units with Champion Status in the Smart Kitchen program. You will take part in new restaurant openings and ongoing operational audits, focusing on both people and process excellence. The Director of Operations is expected to champion company initiatives that boost employee engagement and retention while enhancing service quality. Effective communication through weekly calls and meetings with General Managers keeps the operational focus sharp and aligned with broader business goals. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in restaurant operations or related field
- Experience managing multi-unit teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel frequently to restaurant locations
- Proficient with operational and financial software
- Knowledge of food safety and health code regulations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years experience in multi-unit restaurant operations or similar leadership role
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
- Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing P&L statements and driving profitability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Operations and Home Office to align regional operations with company goals
- provide strategic oversight to General Managers and District Managers, promoting operational excellence and customer satisfaction
- manage up to 7 District Managers, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing leadership support, and driving consistency across all markets
- train, coach, and develop General Managers and Area Managers to foster effective leadership across all locations
- maintain a strong presence in key dayparts including dinner and weekends to support field teams and resolve operational needs in real time
- ensure compliance with all operational procedures, food safety standards, and health codes including maintaining consistent DOH A ratings
- oversee and maintain the Corporate Scorecard, using it as a tool to drive accountability, track performance, and ensure restaurants consistently achieve and sustain Champion Status in Smart Kitchen
- analyze financial performance of each location and implement strategies to drive sales, manage costs, and improve profitability
- lead the recruitment, development, and performance management of restaurant-level leadership
- conduct regular visits and audits to monitor service quality, team engagement, and facility standards
- oversee the successful launch and operational readiness of new restaurant openings, from hiring to grand opening execution
- implement company-wide initiatives aimed at employee retention, performance improvement, and guest satisfaction
- lead structured weekly calls and in-person meetings with General Managers to ensure focus and accountability
- act as a role model for our brand values, consistently demonstrating servant leadership, transparency, and a people-first mindset
