Founded on a commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence, Uline has grown to be a dominant force in the distribution industry, providing a comprehensive range of products essential for businesses' shipping and industrial needs. The company prides itself on maintaining a clean, modern, and safe working environment, highlighted by its best-in-class facilities, a first-class fitness center, and wellness amenities such as a nearby walking path to promote employee health and well-being. Uline also fosters a drug-free workplace culture, requiring all new hires to complete pre-employment hair follicle drug screenings to uphold safety standards. As an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Veteran/Disabled Employer, Uline advocates for an inclusive and diverse workforce committed to innovation and growth, aligning with its family-oriented values.
The Director of Operations role is based at the company's California branch located at 4810 South Hellman Avenue, Ontario, CA 91762. This is a senior leadership position responsible for directing one of Uline's largest facilities spanning two million square feet, overseeing over 700 employees across various operational teams including warehouse, customer service, and sales operations. Offering a competitive salary ranging from $300,000 to $375,000 per year, this full-time, on-site position calls for a highly skilled leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
In this role, the Director of Operations will play a pivotal part in shaping strategy and optimizing operational performance while ensuring the delivery of legendary customer service. The leader will provide executive-level direction, establish clear goals and expectations aligned with Uline's customer-first culture, and uphold the company's high standards in all operational facets. The position entails leading operational audits, conducting performance reviews, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights and reporting to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing efficiency and service quality. Partnership with corporate leadership to align local campus strategies with broader business objectives is also a key responsibility, reinforcing the collaborative and strategic nature of the role. The successful candidate will be adept at managing large teams, including senior leaders, focusing on talent development, accountability, and fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.

Ideal candidates will possess at least 15 years of experience in operational leadership roles, with extensive expertise in managing large teams and driving performance management initiatives. Preference is given to those with an MBA and experience in B2B or e-commerce sectors, enhancing their ability to navigate complex operational landscapes. Uline incentivizes leadership through multiple bonus programs and provides extensive benefits such as complete health insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer matching starting immediately, paid holidays, generous paid time off, and tuition assistance programs to support continual professional education. This role is instrumental in continuing Uline's legacy of operational excellence and customer service leadership across North America.
