The Director of Operations role at Monogram Aerospace Fasteners is a full-time, salaried position stationed on-site at the Commerce, CA location. This leadership role is integral to managing and optimizing the company’s manufacturing operations, aligning with the broader strategic objectives of PennAero. The individual will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for overseeing every facet of manufacturing operations, including the departments of Heading, Wedgelock, Plating, Heat Treat, CNC, Maintenance, and Tooling. The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at minimizing production costs, reducing scrap and rework, and consistently meeting customer quality and delivery expectations.
Additionally, the role demands cooperation across various organizational functions such as Quality, Human Resources, Finance, Environmental Health & Safety, Customer Service, Planning, Design Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Research & Development to foster an integrated and efficient production environment. Responsibilities encompass developing performance metrics, mentoring and training employees, managing capital budgets, and steering cultural initiatives that prioritize teamwork, quality assurance, and workplace safety. Another unique aspect of this role is its requirement to support union relations effectively, including managing employee grievances and disputes in collaboration with Human Resources and the General Manager.

Job Requirements
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Experience in a unionized work environment
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Commerce, CA
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to obtain within first year
- Physical ability to meet job demands
- Local and occasional overnight travel availability
- Must be a US person for ITAR compliance
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement preferably aerospace
- Proven leadership in a multimillion-dollar aerospace operation
- Skilled in delegation, staff development, process and innovation management
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards
- Experience with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Facilities
- Strong business acumen and customer interaction
- Effective mentoring and coaching abilities
- Extensive New Product Introduction experience
- Solid planning, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient with manufacturing software
- Ability to read engineering drawings
Job Duties
- Manage manufacturing operations to achieve business goals
- Oversee departments including Heading, Wedgelock, Plating, Heat Treat, CNC, Maintenance, and Tooling
- Direct LEAN efforts to minimize cost of quality
- Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company policies
- Develop and implement performance metrics for on-time delivery
- Collaborate with Quality, HR, Finance, EH&S, Customer Service, Planning, Engineering, CI, and R&D
- Manage hiring, performance reviews, and employee development
- Set and oversee annual Operations Capital budget
- Foster culture of teamwork, quality, and safety
- Oversee SIOP process ensuring integration of sales, supply chain, and operations
