The Director of Member Dining & Beverage Services at Shenandoah Country Club plays a crucial leadership role, responsible for overseeing the entire front-of-house operations including the Member Dining Room and all club bar outlets. This role reports directly to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of outstanding service quality that aligns with the club's values and expectations. The ideal candidate will be proactive in addressing member feedback, maintaining inventory controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards concerning alcohol service and safety. They will work closely with culinary and executive management to integrate beverage programs and dining experiences that enhance member satisfaction and participation in club offerings.
Additionally, the Director will lead initiatives to continually improve operational effectiveness through regular training sessions, performance evaluations, and implementing standard operating procedures. They are expected to maintain visibility during peak service times, engaging directly with members to nurture positive relationships and provide personalized service that reflects Shenandoah Country Club’s esteemed reputation. This role requires flexibility in work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet club operational demands.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in fine dining or club food and beverage operations
- Strong knowledge of beverage programs including wine, cocktails, and beer
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop front-of-house teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with labor and cost management
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of compliance with liquor laws and safety regulations
- Familiarity with POS systems and scheduling software
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in food and beverage operations within clubs or fine dining
- Strong expertise in beverage and dining program management

Job Duties
- Oversee all front-of-house staff in the Member Dining Room and bar operations including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, discipline, and terminate employees with HR and AGM approval
- Maintain communication with AGM on staffing, performance, and operational needs
- Foster a positive and high-performance culture rooted in accountability and hospitality
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
- Create and manage staffing schedules to meet business demands within labor budgets
- Approve time and attendance records and ensure accurate shift closings
- Ensure daily dining room and bar operations run efficiently from opening to closing
- Monitor service pace, cleanliness, table maintenance, and member satisfaction
- Address member concerns promptly and escalate to AGM when necessary
- Oversee beverage inventory, ordering, and cost control with AGM and Controller
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of dining room and bar equipment with Engineering
- Maintain visible leadership presence on the floor during peak periods
- Engage with members to build relationships and support staff
- Ensure polished and personalized service reflecting SCC standards
- Track member preferences and proactively enhance service
- Refine and enforce Steps of Service including greetings and service flow
- Collaborate with Chef on marketing initiatives to drive dining participation
- Lead onboarding and continuous training programs for FOH staff
- Conduct pre-shift meetings, tastings, menu education, and service refreshers
- Develop and maintain training tools, manuals, SOPs, and checklists
- Create and administer staff assessments
- Oversee beverage programs including cocktails, wine, beer, and seasonal offerings
- Partner on menu rollouts and special events with AGM, GM, and Chef
- Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate beverage products
- Manage labor costs, beverage costs, waste, and inventory variance
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L reviews
- Implement systems and SOPs for financial accuracy and operational consistency
- Maintain and update SOPs for dining and bar operations
- Coordinate POS setup, menu builds, pricing, and updates with Controller and AGM
- Manage scheduling, time-off requests, payroll review, and compliance
- Enforce club policies, safety procedures, liquor laws, grooming standards, and professionalism
- Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service and regulatory requirements
- Pursue professional development through industry memberships and certifications
- Maintain collaboration and communication with AGM on operational decisions
- Set and uphold professionalism, warmth, and elevated service standards
- Deliver consistent high-quality performance across all dining and bar outlets
- Build an engaged, accountable, and well-trained team aligned with SCC service philosophy
