Job Description
Traders Village is a premier marketplace and entertainment destination renowned for blending shopping, food, rides, festivals, concerts, and community events into large-scale experiences that attract hundreds of thousands of guests each year. As a vibrant and dynamic environment, Traders Village offers unique and diverse shopping and recreational opportunities, bringing together vendors and customers to create a lively and engaging atmosphere. Catering to families, individuals, and groups looking for meaningful and memorable outings, Traders Village combines the excitement of local culture, entertainment, and retail in a seamless, well-curated setting. Emphasizing community engagement, Traders Village operates across multiple locations, each offering tailored experiences that reflect the local vibe while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
The Director of Marketing, Strategy & Performance plays a critical role at Traders Village, spearheading the enterprise-wide marketing strategy and ensuring a consistent brand experience across all market locations. This leadership position requires managing agency relationships, setting brand standards, coordinating cross-market efforts, and delivering performance reporting that aligns marketing outcomes with overall business objectives. This role is pivotal to driving visitor attendance, boosting customer engagement, increasing vendor participation, and maximizing revenue through strategically developed marketing campaigns, promotions, events, and operationally aligned execution.
This full-time onsite role, reporting directly to the President of Traders Village, demands an experienced marketing leader who understands the nuanced intersection of live retail operations, experiential marketing, and customer behavior. The successful candidate will work closely with general managers, agency partners, and regional marketing teams to implement large-scale public experiences that effectively translate into measurable traffic and revenue growth, going beyond digital metrics to create tangible business impacts. The Director of Marketing oversees marketing budgets, ROI, and the development of key performance indicators that guide actionable business insights and strategic decision-making.
Collaborative yet accountable, the role involves balancing multi-channel campaign development, media planning, creative approval, CRM, social media engagement, public relations, event marketing, and local execution across locations. This role encompasses high-level strategic planning combined with boots-on-the-ground marketing operations, emphasizing vendor engagement and community involvement as essential drivers of marketplace energy and success. The candidate needs to be adept at managing multi-location operational complexities and able to foster best-practice sharing to elevate marketing effectiveness across the entire Traders Village brand.
Being not merely a digital marketing role, the Director of Marketing, Strategy & Performance must excel in aligning marketing strategies with operational realities and local market opportunities, ensuring that communication and promotional efforts resonate with real customer experiences. The role requires weekend and event availability, some travel to multiple sites, and a profound understanding of how to measure marketing success beyond clicks and impressions, focusing instead on the direct influence of marketing on attendance, dwell time, customer retention, vendor participation, and revenue generation. Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 depending on experience and qualifications, reflecting the significant scope and impact of this leadership position.
