This Management position is located at the property in San Francisco, California, and involves full-time, on-site work. The compensation range for this role is $105,600 to $146,100 annually with bonus eligibility. The primary responsibility is directing the development, production, and implementation of marketing strategies that drive revenue and achieve overall marketing objectives. As a vital partner to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Marketing Manager develops the annual marketing plan to align with both short-term and long-term revenue goals, and works closely with the sales and revenue management teams to create cross-functional efforts maximizing topline revenue and market share. In this role, the Marketing Manager oversees all internal and external communications, including management of the hotel’s digital presence such as its website, social media channels, and third-party platforms, ensuring brand consistency and integrity. They identify and leverage incremental marketing opportunities through partnerships, third-party sites, and Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs). Additionally, the Marketing Manager tracks and articulates campaign performance to key stakeholders including the General Manager, sales and revenue leaders, and ownership. Leading a team of marketing professionals, this role requires management skills in recruitment, performance evaluation, and personnel development to maintain a highly efficient and productive marketing department. Success in this role demands strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to adapt marketing tactics based on performance data, market trends, and business objectives. It also entails effective negotiations and relationship-building with internal teams and external vendors or agencies. This position is a critical component of the hotel’s overall success, combining creative marketing expertise with business acumen to enhance brand visibility, drive guest engagement, and ultimately contribute to the financial profitability of the property.

Job Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in business administration, sales, or related major
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, or related major
  • 1 year experience in hospitality sales, spa sales or comparable professional area

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develops overarching marketing strategy including marketing plans and property email strategy to overall hotel marketing budgets
  • oversees execution of all marketing initiatives, projects and collateral production
  • cultivates partnership and active participation in demand generation strategy development
  • reconciles marketing plan monthly with accruals and forecast in conjunction with Director of Finance
  • leads repositioning efforts in partnership with Area Team, GM and hotel executive team
  • serves as the hotel(s) brand guardian and liaison
  • partners with Revenue Management to develop and execute promotional strategy efforts
  • supports group lead generation efforts
  • analyzes and articulates key marketing reports to stakeholders and owners
  • manages internal and external partners to verify deliverables
  • develops and sets the annual digital marketing plan and partnership strategies
  • manages the OTA strategy with Revenue Management
  • monitors and updates SEO in collaboration with agency
  • manages cluster marketing strategies when applicable
  • owns direct asset development such as photoshoots
  • maintains engagement with Area Directors of Marketing
  • sets and manages Public Relations strategy and agency
  • measures and communicates campaign success
  • builds strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • manages and develops marketing team through recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • completes other reasonable duties as requested by leadership
