The Director of Lifestyle Engagement at American House Senior Living Communities plays an essential role in bringing this mission to life by coordinating and facilitating community-centered events that enhance the everyday experiences of residents. Reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with Corporate and Regional Life Enrichment Directors, this bonus-eligible position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about creating lifestyle programs that incorporate the well-being of seniors across multiple dimensions. The successful candidate will design and implement comprehensive monthly programming based on the Seven Dimensions of Wellness Model, ensuring activities address emotional, environmental, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual needs. In this leadership role, the Director of Lifestyle Engagement will oversee the scheduling and management of entertainers, speakers, and outside vendors, guaranteeing smooth operation and high-quality delivery for all events. This position demands a blend of creativity, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to foster positive, long-lasting relationships with residents, families, staff, and external community partners. Additionally, the Director will manage Life Enrichment department budgets, transportation logistics, and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to promote resident engagement and enhance community life.
This role is suited for candidates who possess extensive experience in creative event management, activity planning for active adults in luxury senior living environments, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. The Director will also have technological proficiency to utilize modern tools that elevate program delivery and resident interaction. Candidates must demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, and energy when serving older adults, alongside an ability to teach, train and lead Life Enrichment Assistants and volunteers. Maintaining compliance with safety regulations, fostering community spirit through involvement in volunteer activities, and preparing for crisis situations are also integral components of this multifaceted role. Job Requirements
- Capacity to read, analyze and interpret facility forms, signs and product instructions
- Ability to speak clearly and interpret verbal communication
- High degree of interpersonal relationship skills

- Telephone and computer technology proficiency
- Problem solving and reasoning abilities
Job Qualifications
- Degree in Recreational Therapy, Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist, or Certified Activity Director preferred
- Experience building lifestyle programming for active adults in a luxury living environment
- Extensive experience in a creative event management or activity planning role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, residents and family members
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy
- Compassion for older adults
- Extensive knowledge of current technologies
- Experience teach/training others and facilitating groups
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be 21 years of age to obtain a CDL
- must obtain a CDL license within 90 days of hire
Job Duties
- Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our residents
- Work in partnership with the Lifestyle Sales Director or sales team to participate in prospective resident visits
- Perform the Resident Orientation with new residents as specified in the Welcome Procedure
- Create programming for each month based on the Seven Dimensions of Wellness Model and incorporate all 7 experiences from the model each day
- Ensure all elements of all signature programs are executed
- Manage and schedule all guest entertainers, speakers and outside vendors, including their communication, pay, setup/teardown, event requirements and event execution
- Maintain direct line of communication to regional and corporate Life Enrichment team through required reporting
