Delaware North’s extensive presence around the world means that employees can find roles in vibrant locations, contributing to memorable experiences for guests in great places. This makes it an excellent company for individuals passionate about hospitality, service, and building rewarding careers in dynamic environments.
The role of Director of Labor Relations, based in Buffalo, New York, is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and maintenance of high-quality labor relations support and services within Delaware North. This role involves spearheading labor relations strategies that align with the company’s corporate objectives and human resources priorities. The Director of Labor Relations will lead collective bargaining negotiations as the chief negotiator and provide expert advice on labor contracts, grievance resolutions, and arbitration processes. Ensuring compliance with labor laws and contract provisions is critical, requiring collaboration with legal teams and effective communication across departments. The position demands a strategic thinker who can develop and deliver training programs focused on labor relations best practices, de-escalation techniques, and strategies to foster a positive, issue-free workplace culture.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in collective bargaining agreement (CBA) labor relations, with preference given to backgrounds in hospitality or service industries. However, candidates from other industries will also be considered. A Juris Doctor degree is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for managing relationships at all levels, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment is required. The role requires substantial travel, approximately 35 percent or more, making it suitable for candidates who can operate remotely and are flexible about travel commitments.
The salary range for this position is $132,100 to $178,400 per year, with additional compensation available through an annual bonus plan based on individual, company, and location performance, or alternatively, a role-based uncapped sales incentive plan. Delaware North offers a competitive comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and professional development of their employees.
