Viejas Casino & Resort, located in San Diego, is a premier Four Diamond gaming and resort destination. This resort is celebrated for its luxurious accommodations, world-class gaming experiences, and exceptional hospitality services. Boasting over 230 luxury rooms and 190 VIP suites spread across multiple hotel towers, Viejas Casino & Resort offers guests a sophisticated and welcoming environment. The resort features an impressive array of gaming options, including 2,500 slot machines, a variety of exciting table games, bingo, and off-track betting. Additionally, guests can enjoy several dining venues such as the AAA Four Diamond Grove Steakhouse, Baron Long Bar & Grill, Ginger Noodle Bar, the Café, and the Daily Roast. Beyond gaming and dining, visitors can explore the Viejas Outlet Center, which is home to shopping outlets, a bowling alley, an arcade, and Southern California’s largest outdoor roller rink.
The resort prides itself on maintaining its reputation for excellence, which is reflected in its prestigious AAA Four Diamond award. This accolade is a testament to the commitment of the entire team to provide guests with an extraordinary experience. The resort’s team members and the diversity they bring play a vital role in the ongoing success and exceptional level of service provided at Viejas Casino & Resort. The organization recognizes the importance of fostering an inclusive, motivated, and engaged workforce.
Currently, Viejas Casino & Resort is seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping to join their dynamic Hotel Operations team. This full-time leadership position involves overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the Housekeeping Departments across the hotel, casino, and public areas. The Director of Housekeeping plays a critical role in ensuring all housekeeping services meet and maintain the AAA rating standards alongside the bespoke Viejas STYLE standards, which define the resort’s unique hospitality approach.
In this leadership capacity, the Director will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of housekeeping services to ensure consistent cleanliness and high standards in guest rooms, public spaces, restaurants, and pool areas. The role demands a comprehensive approach to managing housekeeping operations, including planning, organizing, coordinating, evaluating work performances, and fostering strong staff relations. Key responsibilities include managing personnel requirements, problem-solving, administrative functions, and driving continuous education and training for all housekeeping staff to uphold best practices.
The Director will guide the long-term planning and improvement initiatives within the Housekeeping Department, ensuring workflow efficiency, policy compliance, and resource conservation alongside sustainable practices. Supervising managers and indirectly overseeing housekeeping team members, the Director will also manage departmental budgets, inventory control, and special projects that enhance the maintenance and overall guest experience. The role requires a hands-on leadership style to motivate, coach, discipline, and develop team members while maintaining a safe, hazard-free work environment.
Effective communication, conflict management, and promoting a culture of accountability are critical components of this role. The Director interacts internally with team members and senior management regularly and externally with guests, ensuring all service goals are met. Candidates should bring strong organizational, interpersonal, and hospitality skills, coupled with experience in AAA rating criteria and housekeeping management. This role also demands flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Viejas Casino & Resort is proud to offer a rewarding career opportunity to individuals committed to excellence in hospitality and guest satisfaction, emphasizing cultural diversity and inclusiveness in its hiring practices.
