The position of Director of Guest Services at Providence Park plays a fundamental role in ensuring each visitor's experience is welcoming, secure, and enjoyable. This leadership role is responsible for managing all facets of the guest service department, overseeing operations during matches, concerts, and major events, and guiding the Fan Experience team. The Director establishes service standards, plans operational strategies, manages budgets, and facilitates cross-department collaboration to guarantee a superior guest experience throughout every event. This role demands a blend of strategic vision and hands-on management to drive continuous improvement in fan engagement and operational efficiency.
In this capacity, the Director provides visionary leadership by mentoring the Fan Experience Manager and supervisory teams, conducting pre-event briefings, and spearheading staff recognition programs. They drive operational excellence by managing daily communications, problem-solving, preparing event brief sheets, and leading administrative activities on event days. The Director also plays a pivotal role in event planning and execution by participating in match previews and concert planning sessions, developing staffing plans, ensuring on-time communication of procedures, and delivering on-site leadership.
Financial oversight is a critical component of the role, where the Director manages budget approvals, processes invoices, submits credit transactions, and reconciles financial reports. They collaborate with senior leadership to develop annual budgets and share financial insights. Strategically, the Director champions long-term planning, innovation, and department enhancements, facilitates supervisor meetings, and partners with Events teams on cost management and process improvement initiatives.
Successful candidates will exhibit proven leadership experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills, a background in event operations or venue management, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in sports or entertainment leadership, managing diverse teams, familiarity with customer experience metrics, and expertise in budgeting software. Certifications related to guest services or event operations are an advantage. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration, sports management, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in guest services or event management roles
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with budgeting and financial management software
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and event days
- Capacity to perform under pressure and resolve conflicts efficiently
- Knowledge of customer service standards and crowd management practices
- Experience in strategic planning and departmental budgeting
Job Qualifications

- Experience managing large teams, including part-time and event-based staff
- Prior work in a stadium, arena, or major event venue environment
- Familiarity with customer experience metrics and service standards
- Experience with budgeting including the use of budgeting software
- Strong presentation skills and experience influencing senior leadership
- Certifications in guest services, crowd management, or event operations (e.g., NCS4, IAVM programs)
Job Duties
- Provide strategic direction for the Fan Experience department
- Mentor and develop the Fan Experience Manager and supervisory teams
- Lead pre-event briefings and represent the department in company meetings
- Oversee part-time staff recognition programs
- Guide day-to-day department functions, communication, and scheduling
- Resolve operational issues and maintain service quality standards
- Create match and concert brief sheets and ensure staff readiness
- Lead administrative operations during matches and events
- Produce and distribute post-event evaluations and support debrief processes
- Participate in match previews, VSG meetings, and concert planning sessions
- Develop staffing plans and operational workflows to support fan experience goals
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of event-day procedures
- Provide on-site leadership to ensure smooth fan-facing operations
- Maintain budget oversight, including approvals and invoice processing
- Submit credit card transactions and reconcile financial reports
- Develop the annual proposed budget and present to senior leadership
- Drive long-term planning, innovation, and department improvement initiatives
- Lead supervisor meetings and establish strategic agendas
- Partner with the Events team on monthly cost recaps and process efficiencies
