The role of Director of Grounds and Pest Control at ABM is a highly strategic and operational leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of campus grounds, landscaping, synthetic turf surfaces, pest control, waste management, and environmental sustainability programs. This position demands a visionary leader with expertise in grounds maintenance, horticulture, turf management, pest control, and waste diversion program oversight. The Director will ensure strict compliance with environmental and pest control regulations while advancing green cleaning programs that utilize environmentally friendly products and practices. Waste stream management, including landfill, recycling, and composting, is another area of focus, with efforts directed at contamination reduction, data tracking, and program expansion to promote sustainability throughout the campus environment.

In addition to operational management, the Director will support educational initiatives and collaborative projects that leverage campus landscapes as living laboratories for sustainability research and learning. This includes training staff on sustainable landscaping, integrated pest management, waste diversion protocols, and environmental compliance. Data-driven decision-making is critical, with an emphasis on tracking key performance indicators such as grounds appearance, pest control effectiveness, waste diversion metrics, safety performance, and budget adherence.
