Job Description
The hiring establishment is a multi-location food service company dedicated to delivering high-quality meals and an exceptional dining experience to its customers. Known for its commitment to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, the company operates with a focus on consistency and innovation across all its locations. As a trusted name in the food service industry, it prioritizes maintaining the highest standards in food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and overall food service operations. With a team-oriented culture, the company emphasizes professional development and continuous improvement to ensure its staff are well-trained and motivated.
The role of the Director of Food Service is integral to maintaining and enhancing these standards. This leadership position involves managing food service operations across all company locations, ensuring that each outlet meets the organization’s expectations for quality and compliance. The Director will play a key role in hiring and training kitchen staff to build strong, capable teams that can deliver excellent service. Food safety is a top priority, and the Director is responsible for overseeing ServSafe training and ensuring compliance with Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) regulations. A significant aspect of the role involves regularly visiting store locations to monitor the quality of food, the cleanliness of kitchens, and the consistency of food preparation to uphold brand standards.
Additionally, the Director will develop and implement guidelines for handling food that is cooked in advance and kept in warmers, with a focus on minimizing waste while ensuring sufficient supply during busy meal times. This requires a strategic approach to food preparation and inventory management to balance operational efficiency with quality. The Director will also work closely with food service vendors to improve purchasing processes, seeking cost-effective and quality solutions. Menu development and updates will fall under this role, allowing the Director to introduce new offerings and optimize the menu to cater to customer preferences and market trends. Overall, this position demands a proactive, detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple facets of food service operations, ensuring excellence at every customer touchpoint while driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the food service team.
