The position of Director of Food and Beverage at Tenaya Lodge presents an exciting leadership opportunity within Delaware North Parks and Resorts. This role is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations across multiple restaurant outlets and banquet services at the lodge. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who balances a results-driven approach with empathetic management, fostering strong team alignment between front-of-house and back-of-house staff. Relocation assistance is offered for this role, which comes with a competitive base salary ranging from $99,800 to $134,700 per year. Additionally, the compensation package includes an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or an uncapped sales incentive plan tied to the role. This role requires the incumbent to implement financial plans, uphold safety and sanitation procedures, comply with regulations, and manage staffing levels to optimize net returns while maintaining service excellence.

The Director of Food and Beverage will be tasked with hiring, training, and mentoring both salaried and hourly team members to uphold high service standards and achieve exceptional guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include verifying operational systems for cash, inventory, and payroll, preparing monthly reports and projections, and ensuring adherence to employment and safety guidelines. The role demands familiarity with various software systems like Microsoft Office Suite, catering software, and point-of-sale solutions. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and demonstrate strong decision-making and relationship-building skills to influence effectively within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of large-scale hospitality management experience
  • familiarity with various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, catering software, and point-of-sale systems

  • bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • must possess a valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, and develop both salaried and hourly team members to deliver high standards of service to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction
  • ensure financial plans are met or exceeded
  • establish and maintain safety and sanitation procedures, including the proper repair and maintenance of food service equipment
  • ensure compliance with regulations regarding the sale of alcohol, payroll, employment guidelines, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
  • determine staffing levels to maximize net returns while maintaining guest service levels
  • prepare and submit monthly projections and reports
  • verify that effective systems for cash, inventory, and payroll procedures are in place
  • operate a company vehicle when necessary
