The Director of Food and Beverage role at Tenaya Lodge represents a pivotal leadership position within Delaware North. This full-time, salaried position offers an anticipated annual base salary range between $99,800 and $134,700, along with an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance or a role-based uncapped sales incentive plan. Relocation assistance is also available to qualified candidates.

As the Director of Food and Beverage, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple food and beverage outlets, including several restaurants and banquet operations. This role requires a dynamic and results-driven leader who excels in aligning front-of-house and back-of-house teams to deliver exceptional guest service while fostering a positive and collaborative work culture. You will spearhead efforts to hire, train, and develop both salaried and hourly team members, cultivating talent and empowering the team to achieve their full potential.

Operational excellence is critical in this role, as you will oversee financial planning, budget management, and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards, including alcohol sales and employment laws. Maintaining and improving systems related to cash handling, inventory control, and payroll processes will be essential in maximizing profitability and guest satisfaction. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly projections and reports to senior leadership, along with determining appropriate staffing levels to balance performance and labor costs effectively.

This leadership role demands strong communication, assessment, and decision-making skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as the Microsoft Office Suite, catering software, and point-of-sale systems is required. A valid driver’s license is also necessary for this position, as operating a company vehicle may be needed.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of large-scale hospitality management experience
  • Familiarity with software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, catering software, and point-of-sale systems
  • Strong leadership, assessment, and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, holidays, weekends, and events

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, and develop both salaried and hourly team members to deliver high standards of service to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction
  • Ensure financial plans are met or exceeded
  • Establish and maintain safety and sanitation procedures, including the proper repair and maintenance of food service equipment
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the sale of alcohol, payroll, employment guidelines, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
  • Determine staffing levels to maximize net returns while maintaining guest service levels
  • Prepare and submit monthly projections and reports
  • Verify that effective systems for cash, inventory, and payroll procedures are in place
  • Operate a company vehicle when necessary
