As the Pre-Opening Director of Food & Beverage at Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the food and beverage vision of this flagship property during its launch phase. This role offers an extraordinary opportunity to create, develop, and lead a world-class food and beverage program from the ground up. Responsibilities include crafting innovative menus, setting high service standards, and managing the hiring and mentoring of a passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will have direct oversight of all food and beverage outlets and banquet operations, ensuring profitable results through effective cost controls and efficient scheduling.
This leadership position requires a strategic mindset and creative problem-solving skills to thrive in a pre-opening hotel environment. You will work closely with various departmental managers to establish and achieve profit objectives while maintaining exceptional quality across food, service, merchandising, and promotions. Ensuring compliance with Hilton policies as well as local, state, and federal laws is also a critical part of the role. Beyond operational oversight, you will contribute to long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to drive the department’s success.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years food and beverage management experience
- Experience with budget development and financial management
- Leadership experience in a multi-outlet food and beverage environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal food and beverage regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrated capability to handle a pre-opening hotel environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in food and beverage management
- Strong strategic planning and program development skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Experience in pre-opening or launch of food and beverage operations preferred
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Knowledge of compliance with health, safety, and hospitality regulations
- Proficiency with office software including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to hire, train, and mentor diverse teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the food & beverage department to meet daily operational needs
- Clearly describe, assign, and delegate responsibility and authority for various food and beverage sub-departments
- Monitor and develop schedules for restaurant and bar operations to achieve profitable results
- Implement and control food, beverage, and labor costs, and monitor budgets to ensure efficient operations
- Assist managers in establishing profit objectives and quality standards for food, service, cleanliness, merchandising, and promotions
- Regularly review customer satisfaction levels and recommend updates to operating and marketing policies
- Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints
- Develop operating tools such as budgeting, forecasting, purchase specifications, recipes, and job descriptions
- Ensure compliance with Hilton policies and all relevant local, state, and federal laws
- Hire, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel food and beverage management team members
- Participate in annual budget development and create short and long-term financial plans
- Attend mandatory meetings including divisional, executive, and staff meetings
- Operate traditional office software such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
