The Director of Food & Beverage at Oak View Group plays a critical leadership role within the company’s culinary operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all daily kitchen activities to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction, profitability, and a positive, productive, and compliant work environment. The Director leads the culinary team with a focus on operational excellence, including event support, scheduling, food preparation, cost control, safety compliance, and staff training and supervision. With a direct influence on food quality and presentation, the Director ensures that the venue’s food outlets and events exceed expectations consistently. This leadership position requires culinary proficiency combined with exceptional personnel management skills to coordinate all food and beverage operations. Additionally, the Director assists the Executive Chef in meal preparation and is hands-on in maintaining kitchen standards. The role demands availability for a variable event-driven schedule, including evenings and weekends, highlighting the importance of flexibility and dedication.
This position offers an annual salary ranging from $82,000 to $92,000 and includes bonus eligibility. Job Requirements
- BA or BS degree in a business-related major
- 5-7 years of experience in the food and beverage industry
- experience in volume feeding, à la carte, fine dining, catering, purchasing, storage, and handling
- professional appearance and presentation
- knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- current food handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- ability to work nights, weekends, and extended hours
- leadership experience supervising kitchen and banquet staff

Job Qualifications

- verifiable track record of meeting projected costs
- professional appearance and presentation
- knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- current food handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- experience in employee scheduling in a hospitality environment

- highly skilled in technical and sanitary aspects of food preparation and presentation

Job Duties
- Coordinating and supervising the work of kitchen staff to create a positive work environment
- displaying knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teaching proper food preparation and presentation
- developing menus, recipes, and costing sheets
- overseeing all culinary and front-of-house banquet staff
- working with the administrative team to market and sell food and beverage to drive revenue
- delivering high-quality food services and presentation
- providing direction, development, and accountability to the team by leading by example
- producing and executing training schedules to ensure best practices among the team
- managing food and labor costs through proper scheduling and purchasing
- attending and contributing to planning and managerial meetings
- conducting regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards
- overseeing and managing monthly inventory
- producing high-quality, fresh food products and presentations in a timely manner
- assisting the Executive Chef in preparing hot and cold foods
- coordinating storage, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment to ensure operational readiness
- maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards and training
- observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
- portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery
- consulting with managers to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- maintaining visible presence on the floor to ensure quality, efficiency, and overall management of operations
