The Carolina Hurricanes, a professional National Hockey League (NHL) team, and Lenovo Center, a premier sports and entertainment venue, are collaboratively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Director of Food & Beverage Operations. This position plays a crucial role in leading all guest-facing Food & Beverage activities within one of the most recognized venues that host thousands of guests during live sporting and entertainment events. The venue is well known for its commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences across various service outlets including concessions, premium spaces, bars, catering services, and culinary operations.

As the Director of Food & Beverage Operations, you will be a senior on-site leader charged with setting the service tone, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of quality, consistency, and warmth. Your role will involve overseeing all aspects of food and beverage delivery from concessions and bars to premium lounges and suites, including catering during live events. You will have the responsibility to lead, inspire, and develop multiple teams and operations managers while maintaining a culture focused on hospitality and professionalism.
In this role, staffing and workforce strategy are key components where you will align labor deployment with event size and guest expectations. Your financial acumen will be critical, as you will manage labor costs and operational budgets while coordinating with internal stakeholders and partners. Culinary quality and service timing are also pivotal, requiring collaboration with culinary leadership to maintain the highest standards. Operational safety, cleanliness, and service excellence are non-negotiable priorities under your leadership.
Furthermore, you will work cross-functionally with various departments such as Supply Chain, Finance, and Compliance to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. Using guest feedback and operational data, you will proactively identify challenges and implement solutions that enhance the overall venue experience. As the primary escalation point during events, you will ensure an efficient and responsive management approach that addresses real-time issues effectively.
The ideal candidate will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with over 10 years of leadership experience in high-volume food and beverage or hospitality operations. Experience managing multi-outlet operations, including concessions, premium clubs, and catering in sports, live entertainment, or large-scale venues is strongly preferred. You must have a strong service mindset coupled with the ability to lead teams through demanding, fast-paced event environments. Excellent communication, collaboration, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays will be essential for success in this role.
