Job Description
Hyatt Vacation Ownership is a renowned hospitality company that is part of the global Hyatt Hotels Corporation, known for its commitment to delivering unforgettable guest experiences and exceptional service. Hyatt Vacation Ownership specializes in providing luxury vacation ownership options, ensuring that guests enjoy premium accommodations coupled with outstanding amenities across various locations. With a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Hyatt Vacation Ownership has cultivated a culture of excellence and inclusivity, making it a preferred employer in the hospitality industry.
This opportunity is for a highly strategic and experienced Food and Beverage Director who will serve as the business leader and visionary for the property's entire food and beverage and culinary operations. The role encompasses oversight of Restaurants, Bars, Room Service, Banquets, and Catering functions, ensuring these areas operate seamlessly and in alignment with Hyatt's brand standards and service strategies. The director will be pivotal in fostering an environment that satisfies both the customers' and employees' needs while driving revenue growth and maximizing the department’s financial performance.
This exempt, salaried position offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $120,000 per year, with additional bonus eligibility, reflecting the seniority and responsibility of the role. The candidate will have driving responsibilities related to this position. As a strategic leader, the Food and Beverage Director is expected to develop and implement well-defined departmental strategies that not only meet but exceed brand expectations and customer satisfaction scores. This involves a thorough analysis of market trends and operational data to pinpoint growth opportunities and implement innovative initiatives aligned with the property's business goals.
Responsibilities extend to budget development and financial management, including monitoring sales projections, managing cost controls such as liquor and cash handling policies, and making capital expenditure recommendations for improvements to food and beverage equipment and facility renovations. The role demands an exceptional ability to lead and mentor a diverse team, foster a culture of mutual trust and respect, and ensure continuous communication throughout the food and beverage hierarchy, including pre-meal briefings and regular team meetings.
Beyond financial oversight and team leadership, the director will also focus on maintaining exceptional customer service standards. This includes acting on guest feedback through comment cards and satisfaction surveys to implement corrective actions where necessary, empowering staff to deliver top-notch service, and balancing cost management with service excellence.
Human resource management forms another critical component of the position. The Food and Beverage Director will oversee hiring practices, performance management, wages, and cost control, ensuring fair treatment and development opportunities for all team members. Coaching and mentoring are essential to maintaining a high-performing, motivated team that drives business results.
Additional responsibilities include effective communication with executives, peers, and subordinates, problem-solving by analyzing data to make informed decisions, and managing procurement of inventory and equipment needed to sustain excellent service delivery. Hyatt Vacation Ownership is an equal opportunity employer that proudly embraces a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, aiming to hire individuals who not only demonstrate strong functional expertise but who are entrepreneurial leaders dedicated to excellence in hospitality service.
