Job Description

The Peninsula Hotel New York is a prestigious luxury hospitality establishment renowned for delivering exceptional guest experiences through its impeccable service, sophisticated ambiance, and world-class amenities. As part of the globally recognized Peninsula brand, the New York location stands out in one of the most competitive luxury hospitality markets worldwide. The hotel boasts an array of Food & Beverage (F&B) outlets including elegant dining venues, vibrant bars, banquet facilities, and exclusive in-room dining services, all designed to cater to the discerning tastes and preferences of its affluent clientele. Known for its commitment to luxury, excellence, and innovation, the Peninsula Hotel New York continually strives to exceed guest expectations while upholding the highest standards of quality and sophistication in every aspect of its operation.

The role of Director of Food & Beverage is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the comprehensive operations of all F&B outlets within the hotel. This includes managing dining venues, bars, banquets, and in-room dining services to ensure world-class standards of luxury service, culinary excellence, and personalized guest experiences aligned with the Peninsula brand. The Director will hold full accountability for the financial performance of the F&B division, including profit and loss management, revenue growth, gross operating profit margins, and cost optimization, maintaining luxury benchmarks throughout. This pivotal role demands a proactive approach to business planning, incorporating dynamic pricing strategies, data-driven demand forecasting, and revenue management tailored to the unique demands of the New York luxury market.

Leadership and team development are central to the role, with the Director expected to mentor, guide, and hold a high-performing leadership team accountable through measurable key performance indicators aligned with Peninsula brand standards and guest satisfaction scores. Elevating all dining concepts to industry-leading status involves fostering innovation, forming strategic partnerships, and embracing continuous reinvention based on global luxury trends. The Director of Food & Beverage will champion a culture of anticipatory service and exceptional guest recognition, ensuring VIP, repeat, and high-profile guests receive uniquely personalized and memorable experiences.

Talent acquisition and team culture also fall under the Director's purview, with an emphasis on recruiting top-tier hospitality professionals and creating a disciplined, excellence-driven workplace with ongoing professional development. Continuous training programs emphasizing luxury service choreography, mastery of product knowledge, and emotional intelligence in guest interactions will be implemented to maintain the hotel’s competitive edge. Close partnership with Culinary leadership is essential to guarantee innovative menu development, cost control, and brand-aligned market positioning.

In addition to operational leadership, the Director will spearhead marketing, branding, and public relations strategies for the F&B outlets, working collaboratively with the hotel’s executive team to enhance media visibility, engage influencers, and secure critical acclaim. By establishing the hotel as a premier destination dining hub, the Director will orchestrate strategic event programming, partnerships, and seasonal activations that resonate with New York City’s vibrant cultural calendar.

Compliance and regulatory adherence are critical, with the Director maintaining strict oversight of health, safety, and union regulations within the New York City jurisdiction to ensure zero tolerance for standards lapses. Serving as a key member of the Executive Committee, the Director will contribute to broader hotel strategy, profitability, and brand positioning while embodying the Peninsula brand as a visible and active ambassador in local and international luxury communities. Proactive labor relations management, particularly within a unionized environment, is necessary to balance compliance with operational excellence.

This position offers an annual salary range of $180,000 to $195,000 and requires candidates to have valid work authorization in the United States. The Director of Food & Beverage role is tailored for an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in ultra-luxury environments, demonstrating advanced financial acumen, exceptional leadership, and a passion for elevating guest experiences through impeccable service and innovation. Joining the Peninsula Hotel New York means becoming part of a prestigious brand committed to luxury, excellence, and continuous evolution in hospitality.
