Job Description
Forest Hills Country Club, located in Clarkson Valley near Chesterfield, Missouri, has been a distinguished part of the community for over 50 years. As the premier private country club in West St. Louis, it offers world-class golf facilities alongside exceptional amenities designed to provide a luxurious but welcoming experience. Known affectionately as "The Family Club of Choice," Forest Hills fosters a family-oriented atmosphere, encouraging members to create long-lasting memories and friendships within a close-knit community. The club is highly regarded for its exclusive, yet approachable private club lifestyle, which remains a significant value to its members. Its commitment to excellence extends across all facets of the club, from recreational activities and dining options to social events and personalized services. This environment creates a unique and vibrant community where families and individuals alike can enjoy prestigious amenities with a warm, inclusive spirit.
This full-time, on-site position for the Director of Food and Beverage is pivotal to the ongoing success of Forest Hills Country Club. Situated in Chesterfield, MO, this leadership role involves overseeing the entire food and beverage operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience to members and guests. The Director is responsible for managing various food service areas including à la carte dining, banquets, pool service, and club events, ensuring smooth, high-quality service throughout. This role requires hands-on leadership to maintain top-tier service standards, work closely with the culinary team, and supervise the food and beverage staff. The Director will lead recruitment, training, and development efforts while fostering a positive and professional culture within the department.
In addition to daily operational management, the Director of Food and Beverage will be entrusted with menu development and ongoing updates to keep offerings fresh and appealing. A key component of the role is financial stewardship, which includes budget management, forecasting, and profit and loss (P&L) oversight. The Director must analyze sales trends, implement growth strategies, control labor costs, and ensure efficient vendor negotiations and inventory management to optimize profitability. Compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations — including alcohol service laws — is essential for maintaining the club’s high standards.
The Director also plays a core role in planning and executing special events such as tournaments, banquets, weddings, and member celebrations, ensuring these occasions run seamlessly and enhance member satisfaction. Strategic collaboration with club leadership on long-term goals and capital improvements further supports the club’s mission and growth. Furthermore, the Director will innovate with new dining concepts, promotional initiatives, and member engagement programs to continually elevate the food and beverage experience. Oversight of the beverage program, including wine and cocktail selections and vendor partnerships, rounds out the diverse scope of this leadership role.
This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about hospitality excellence, team leadership, and delivering memorable experiences in a prestigious private club setting.
