Job Description
Dimension Hospitality operates an independently owned and operated hotel franchise located in Boca Raton, Florida. This company functions as a separate entity and employer from Marriott International, Inc., managing all aspects of employment policies, including hiring, firing, compensation, staffing, and benefits independently from the parent organization. The hotel, situated at 5150 Town Center Circle, is a prominent establishment within the hospitality sector, known for its commitment to guest satisfaction and a positive work environment.
This role is a full-time management position within the Finance and Accounting category, centered around leadership and oversight of the hotel's auditing and accounting department. The position carries a competitive salary of $100,000 and is based onsite, requiring physical presence at the Boca Raton location rather than remote work. The core responsibility of this role is to coordinate, organize, and actively oversee all operations of the auditing and accounting functions ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness in financial reporting.
As the head of the auditing and accounting department, the successful candidate will manage cash flow activities, approve critical accounting functions, and directly supervise accounting, auditing, and cashiering associates. This leadership role demands strong performance in managing hiring processes, training, performance evaluations, communication, and disciplinary actions including recommending termination when necessary. The individual will also handle crucial financial tasks such as reviewing bank statements, asset and liability reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and monthly financial statements verification.
Additional responsibilities involve ensuring tax compliance by reviewing state and federal tax returns, preparing monthly utility and telephone accruals, overseeing inventory accuracy related to supplies, and handling approval authority for food and beverage disbursement checks. The role requires daily auditing of cash deposits and transfers to maintain strict control over monetary transactions.
The position calls for excellent communication skills to provide clear direction verbally and in writing to staff, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Competencies include analyzing large volumes of complex financial data, generating detailed reports, forecasts, and projections for executive committees. The individual must also demonstrate the ability to operate complex computerized financial systems efficiently, alongside manual office equipment.
Dimension Hospitality emphasizes exceptional customer service, encouraging associates to act as guest relations ambassadors by fostering courteous and respectful interactions with guests and fellow employees. This culture of professionalism extends to work habits, with expectations for adherence to hotel standards on appearance, punctuality, attendance, adaptability, problem-solving, and ongoing skill development.
Safety and security are paramount at the hotel, requiring all associates to follow strict safety protocols, including proper key control, safe handling of heavy objects and chemicals, and prompt reporting of safety hazards. This comprehensive approach ensures a safe environment for guests and employees alike.
The company offers an attractive benefits package that includes paid time off starting on the first day of employment, free parking, complimentary meals during shifts, medical benefits, and a 401K plan. These benefits are designed to support employee wellbeing and retention in a positive, engaging workplace atmosphere.
In summary, this management role within the Finance and Accounting department at Dimension Hospitality’s hotel in Boca Raton provides a rewarding career opportunity for experienced financial professionals. The position demands a high level of expertise in financial oversight, leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence alongside a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
