Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, hospitality, business or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years progressive finance experience
- At least 5 years in a Director-level leadership role within hospitality or similar complex industry
- Strong knowledge of financial management and reporting
- Experience managing audits and compliance, including SOX
- Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work collaboratively and embrace change
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications
- 10 years or more of finance career progression
- Preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry
- Five or more years in Director-level leadership within hospitality or complex environments
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Job Duties
- Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements
- Investigate, review and analyze variance explanations involving department managers
- Identify areas for improvement and execute corrective measures
- Manage hotel on and off-site accounting functions ensuring fiscal management and accurate reporting
- Lead financial and capital planning, budgeting, and month-end financial close
- Complete year-end process, review and approve reconciliations and audit work papers
- Coordinate external auditors, respond to audit requests, approve adjustments and audits
- Ensure adherence to HMA terms and reporting obligations
- Maintain adherence to policies and procedures for internal controls and segregation of duties
- Manage SOX compliance
- Monitor industry trends and legislative changes to inform decisions
- Mentor and coach finance team providing direction, training and feedback
- Support development of future leaders across the hotel
- Empower employees with financial insights
- Supervise IT and Procurement functions
- Cultivate and support an environment receptive to change
- Collaborate with management to implement strategic initiatives for cost efficiency and revenue enhancement
- Nurture relationships with owners' representatives and key stakeholders
- Embrace change to drive value to stakeholders
