The role of Director of Finance at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting activities on-site. This includes supervision of account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, credit, and collections, as well as maintaining and monitoring operating systems, procedures, and internal controls. The Director of Finance ensures the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports, and tax filings in compliance with corporate policies and applicable legal requirements. They provide financial analysis and interpretation designed to inform and advise the General Manager and the Omni Corporate Team, supporting strategic planning and operational decision-making. This executive role also involves managing balance sheet analyses on a regular basis, ensuring all financial forecasts, budgets, and external reports are submitted punctually, and maintaining strict adherence to management agreements and legal documents pertinent to the resort's financial health.
The ideal candidate for Director of Finance will bring extensive experience in hotel or resort finance management, preferably having held prior roles such as Assistant Controller or Senior Public Accountant. Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience working in the hotel industry
- Four years experience as a hotel or resort Director of Finance
- Experience as an Assistant Controller or Public Accounting Senior/Management
- Full general ledger experience

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Supervise all accounting functions
- Prepare financial statements within corporate deadlines and according to Omni policies and procedures
- Analyze and interpret financial results to advise the General Manager and Omni Corporate Team
- Maintain balance sheet analysis on a quarterly or monthly basis with full supporting detail
- Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections monthly and as requested
- Prepare timely and accurate sales, use, and occupancy tax returns as well as other external reports as needed
- Ensure compliance with management agreements and related legal documents
- Maintain effective system and control procedures as set forth in policy manuals
- Compile and submit accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts within specified time limits identifying variances and suggesting improvements
- Review forecasts and budgets prepared by hotel management to ensure reasonable and achievable performance guidelines
- Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place to protect hotel assets per management contract requirements
- Install and maintain adequate controls for the protection of the hotel's assets from loss or misappropriation
