Job Description

Halekulani Corporation is a prestigious hospitality company renowned for its legacy of over 100 years in welcoming visitors to Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. It operates luxury hotels and resorts, including the iconic Halekulani and Halepuna Waikiki, known for their gracious hospitality, impeccable service, and unparalleled cuisine. The company values LEGACY as a core principle, celebrating its cultural history and delivering an exceptional guest experience through the art of service. As a multi-hotel portfolio operator, Halekulani Corporation is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability in its properties, blending tradition with modern excellence.

The role of Director of Facilities Management & Asset Enhancements is a critical corporate position within Halekulani Corporation. This role focuses on facilities management oversight, capital planning, renovation programs, resort development, and sustainability initiatives across the company’s diverse portfolio of hotel and resort assets. It is an exempt salaried position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and offers a competitive salary range of $181,000 to $205,000 with eligibility for incentives.

The Director leads corporate efforts to ensure that all properties align with the company’s standards for preventive maintenance, asset preservation, operational efficiency, sustainability targets, and competitive market positioning. Although day-to-day engineering operations reside at the property level, this director serves as the corporate liaison to provide strategic oversight, coordination, and alignment with long-term goals. Key responsibilities include directing capital projects and renovations that enhance guest experience and property value, integrating progressive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives, and conducting facility audits and condition assessments to ensure compliance and quality.

A major emphasis of this leadership role is to safeguard and elevate the quality and market standing of Halekulani properties through collaboration with key stakeholders such as General Managers, Hotel Managers, Executive Assistant Managers, Engineering Leaders, and ownership groups. The Director also engages cross-functionally with finance, operations, procurement, and development teams to execute capital strategies effectively. Supporting hotel openings, transitions, and special projects further spotlights the role’s impact on company growth and innovation.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Hospitality, or related fields, coupled with over a decade of experience in managing hospitality facilities, construction, capital projects, or resort development. Multi-property hotel or resort experience is highly preferred, along with expertise in capital planning, renovation execution, facility performance oversight, CMMS systems, and sustainability practices.

Halekulani Corporation fosters a workplace culture valuing collaboration, operational and financial acumen, strategic project leadership, and a commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Employees enjoy comprehensive benefits that include medical, drug, vision, and dental insurance options, flexible spending accounts, dependent care accounts, and employer-paid life and disability insurances. As an equal opportunity employer, Halekulani promotes diversity and inclusivity, ensuring fair employment practices across all ranks.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead facility management and asset enhancement at a prestigious, culturally rich hospitality group dedicated to preserving legacy while advancing innovation and sustainability in the luxury resort sector.
