The Director of Events & Entertainment at The Setai plays a crucial role in this esteemed environment. This full-time management position is responsible for the strategic development, planning, and execution of an extensive portfolio of events and entertainment offerings that elevate the guest experience and strengthen the hotel’s market presence. The role involves overseeing a year-round calendar of signature events, live entertainment, wellness activations, and private gatherings that cater to a discerning clientele.
Working in close collaboration with multiple departments such as Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Concierge, and Residential Services, the Director of Events & Entertainment ensures that every event and entertainment experience aligns with the high standards of Forbes Five-Star service and The Setai’s luxury brand ethos. The position demands a visionary leader who can creatively curate innovative entertainment concepts while managing the operational and financial aspects of event production.
Key responsibilities include managing relationships with artists, performers, luxury brand partners, and production vendors, as well as driving new business opportunities through strategic partnerships and client engagement. The Director is expected to proactively promote The Setai as a premier venue for luxury events, seamlessly integrating entertainment programming with exquisite dining and hospitality services.
In addition to driving revenue growth, this role requires a commitment to maintaining safety regulations, licensing compliance, and exceptional guest satisfaction. Leadership duties involve mentoring and guiding team members to foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement in event and entertainment operations. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management or a related field
- Experience working in a luxury hospitality or entertainment environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of safety regulations and licensing requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management software
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, entertainment, event sales, lifestyle programming, or event management
- Previous experience in a Forbes Five-Star, luxury hotel, resort, or high-end lifestyle environment strongly preferred
- Strong project management, sales, negotiation, budgeting, and organizational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Established relationships within the Miami entertainment, hospitality, and luxury brand community preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems (Triple Seat)
Job Duties
- Develop and execute a year-round calendar of signature events, live entertainment, wellness experiences, seasonal activations, and exclusive guest experiences
- Curate and oversee all live entertainment throughout the property, including musicians, DJs, performers, artists, and special productions
- Lead the execution of hotel-hosted events, partnerships, and brand collaborations that support revenue growth and guest engagement
- Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to position and sell The Setai as a premier destination for luxury events, celebrations, private gatherings, and exclusive experiences
- Generate new business opportunities by building relationships with event planners, luxury brands, corporate partners, local organizations, and key stakeholders
- Respond to all event inquiries and leads in a timely, professional, and service-oriented manner, ensuring prompt follow-up and exceptional client communication throughout the sales process
- Work closely with the Group Sales department to coordinate, develop, and execute events related to group business and residential owners, ensuring a seamless and elevated experience
