Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree
- five or more years of related catering or event services experience
- two years in supervisory or managerial role preferred
- ability to lead and mentor a team
- knowledge of catering management and luxury service standards
- strong sales and negotiation skills
- excellent communication skills
- proficiency with MS Office and hotel computer systems
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- ability to write reports and business documents

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- bachelor’s degree in hospitality management desired
- five or more years of related progressive catering, conference/event services, banquet, or culinary experience
- two years as a supervisor or manager desired
- solid knowledge of catering management and luxury hotel service standards
- strong guest relations and etiquette skills
- ability to lead and coordinate staff in high volume environments
- experienced in mentoring and training staff
- ability to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes
- strong sales techniques with negotiation and closing ability
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- working knowledge of MS Office and computer systems
- strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- ability to interpret and write reports, business correspondence, and presentations

Job Duties
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure departmental success
- manage subordinate event services staff including hiring, training, and performance appraisals
- solicit new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
- create and maintain banquet event orders with detailed event instructions
- participate in the hiring process and staff training
- prepare and manage annual budgets and control expenses
- ensure guests receive outstanding, consistent service by collaborating with other departments
- comply with safety policies including wearing slip-resistant shoes and using personal protective equipment
- report to work on time and regularly
- make merit decisions and approve leave within company policies
- respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements
- resolve guest complaints or escalate as needed
- notify management of unusual events
