Job Description

Legends Global is a leading global partner renowned for delivering exceptional live event experiences across a vast network of 450 venues worldwide. Hosting approximately 20,000 events annually and entertaining 165 million guests, Legends Global operates with a unique white-label approach that provides premium services encompassing feasibility consulting, owner's representation, sales, partnerships, hospitality, merchandise, venue management, and content booking. Their commitment to respect, bold action, collaborative teamwork, and inclusivity underpins a culture that encourages authenticity and continual growth, making Legends Global a winning formula for professionals passionate about making a tangible impact in the live event industry.

Among their prestigious portfolio, the Albuquerque Convention Center, Kiva Auditorium, Civic Plaza, ABQ Rail Yards, and Jennifer Riordan Spark Kindness Sports Complex play a central role as the City of Albuquerque’s premier event venues. These venues serve as the cornerstone for the region's most significant and impactful events, from large-scale conferences and conventions to weddings, corporate gatherings, and special programs.

The Director of Event Services is a vital leadership role within Legends Global's event operations that reports directly to the General Manager in the Executive department. This exempt position holds responsibility for the strategic oversight, planning, and flawless execution of all event services at these top-tier venues. The role demands a seasoned professional adept at orchestrating complex event logistics, managing client relationships, overseeing vendor partnerships, and leading a dedicated team to deliver excellent service that aligns with both client expectations and organizational objectives.

In this comprehensive role, the Director is accountable for developing and implementing event strategies that enhance the client experience while supporting the organization's vision. Leadership is central to this position, including mentoring and managing the Event Services team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. Establishing service standards and continuously evaluating event performance through data-driven insights ensures that every event achieves optimal success.

Operationally, the Director oversees all phases of event planning — from initial concept development through post-event evaluations — ensuring seamless coordination of logistics such as venue setup, audiovisual needs, catering, transportation, and guest services. They manage event calendars and resource allocation to optimize workflow and monitor on-site operations to maintain quality service standards.

Client and stakeholder management is a core facet of the role, acting as the primary contact for high-profile clients, conducting thorough consultations to clarify objectives, and cultivating strong, lasting relationships with vendors, sponsors, and community partners. Financially, the Director develops and controls event budgets, negotiates contracts, monitors expenses, and spearheads cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Vendor and contract management involves sourcing, evaluating, and establishing strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and safety regulations. The Director also handles recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development for the event services personnel, ensuring staffing plans meet the dynamic needs of event schedules.

Risk management is taken seriously, with responsibilities to enforce safety regulations, develop contingency plans, oversee emergency protocols, and maintain thorough documentation. Reporting and analytics complete the role’s breadth, requiring the tracking of key performance indicators related to event success, client satisfaction, and financial metrics to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvements.

Working as the Director of Event Services within Legends Global not only offers the chance to lead at iconic venues but also to be part of a respected company that values inclusion, professional growth, and excellence. This role is ideal for professionals with proven experience in venue management, exceptional leadership skills, and a customer-centric mindset dedicated to delivering world-class events.
