Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, marketing, or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, marketing, or related area
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and forecast accurately
  • Experience with high-profile events
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to train and provide feedback to staff

Job Qualifications

  • Skilled in developing catering menus and vendor relationships

  • Ability to lead meetings and support strategic initiatives
  • Proficient in reviewing guest satisfaction data and implementing improvements

Job Duties

  • Assigns all events turned over to Event Planning team
  • Oversees function space and group room blocks for turned opportunities
  • Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff training
  • Leads execution of activities to support event management strategy
  • Reviews scheduled events with direct reports to troubleshoot challenges
  • Leads discussions to review event complexity and avoid service failures
  • Manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet needs
  • Maintains inventories to maximize satisfaction and revenue
  • Works with complex or high-profile groups for significant financial impact
  • Leads catering menu development process
  • Champions standards, policies, and procedures for event planning team
  • Leads event management meetings
  • Reviews guest satisfaction data and identifies improvement areas
  • Shares plans with leadership for corrective actions
  • Exemplifies excellent customer service and creates positive guest relations
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback
  • Responds to and handles guest complaints
  • Strives to improve service performance
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent service
  • Develops relationships with outside vendors and establishes agreements
  • Consults customers to determine event requirements
  • Establishes customer service guidelines
