Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years of fundraising experience, specifically in foundation and state grants
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Knowledge of nonprofit sector and philanthropic trends
- Availability to work hybrid in Chicago, IL
- Commitment to social justice and nonprofit values
Job Qualifications
- Five plus years of experience securing foundation and state grants
- Proficiency in Salesforce
- Experience with Action Network or other project management platforms
- Knowledge of local, state, and national nonprofit and advocacy stakeholders
- Skilled communicator
- Relationship-focused leadership skills
- Experience in event management
Job Duties
- Partner with the Executive Director, Leadership Team, and Board to set and execute annual fundraising strategy and goals
- Oversee implementation of the development plan and design strategies for growth across all fundraising areas
- Track and report fundraising performance to the Executive Director and Board
- Participate in Board meetings and committees as needed
- Collaborate on budgeting, revenue forecasting, and financial planning
- Lead data-driven evaluation of fundraising outcomes to inform strategy
- Strengthen Board engagement and fundraising capacity
- Identify new revenue opportunities and deepen investor relationships
- Research and pursue grant opportunities
- Draft, submit, and manage proposals and reports
- Develop strategies to grow and sustain annual individual giving
- Align donor interests with organizational mission and priorities
- Lead annual giving efforts including online giving and direct mail
- Manage and expand major gifts and planned giving programs
- Partner with the Executive Director to design and execute philanthropic events
- Oversee event logistics and staff/contractor support
- Build and manage a comprehensive corporate giving strategy
- Develop annual grant strategy
- Cultivate funders
- Manage proposals, outcomes, and reporting
- Develop a cohesive development communications strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Manage donor communications for high-level fundraising opportunities
