The Culinary Services Manager at Provincial Senior Living plays a critical role in leading all kitchen and dining operations within an independent senior living community. This hands-on position requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences for seniors. The Culinary Services Manager is responsible for the daily preparation of meals, overseeing food service operations, and managing the kitchen team to maintain the highest standards of food quality, safety, and resident satisfaction. Operating on a full-time schedule from Sunday through Thursday, this role demands expertise in menu planning, food inventory management, staff training and development, and vendor relations. By ensuring the culinary services align with resident preferences, cultural needs, and dietary guidelines, the manager enhances the community’s hospitality experience, contributing directly to the residents’ quality of life and overall well-being.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associates degree in culinary arts program preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a food service environment
  • Food safety training completion
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement food service policies, procedures, and job descriptions
  • Plan menus and cycles based on resident preferences, cultural needs, and dietary guidelines
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Observe and support staff in food preparation, portioning, and service execution
  • Prepare meals, cook, and assist with daily kitchen operations as needed
  • Order food and chemical supplies
  • receive and verify deliveries
  • Maintain food inventory and conduct monthly audits
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks
  • Ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices
  • Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures
  • Manage vendor relationships and food service agreements
  • Support scheduling, onboarding, and training of kitchen staff
  • Monitor monthly expenditures and manage budget performance
