The role of Director of Conference & Events at Sodexo, based in Boston, MA, offers a unique leadership opportunity within the Corporate Services team, working for a prominent biotechnology company. As the Director of Conference & Events, the individual will oversee the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of all conferences, events, and catering services across the account. This involves managing a variety of event sizes from intimate meetings to large-scale events accommodating over 1,000 guests. Key responsibilities include coordinating catering, audiovisual setups, banquet event orders (BEOs), and room bookings. The role demands excellent multitasking skills and the ability to lead clients through every phase of event planning, ensuring seamless setup and delivery onsite.

Utilizing catering management software such as CaterTrax or similar systems will be central to managing bookings efficiently. Furthermore, the Director will collaborate cross-functionally with different teams to guarantee professional and smooth event operations. This position is ideal for candidates who excel in customer service and possess consultative skills, along with a proven track record in special events and catering management. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Minimum 3 years functional experience in event or catering management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong customer service skills
