Job Description
Meridian School, established in 2011, is a public, tuition-free charter school located in Williamson County, Texas. As a charter school, Meridian offers families a unique choice in education by providing an inquiry-based curriculum that supports a continuum for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program from kindergarten through 12th grade. Known for academic excellence, Meridian has been recognized by reputable sources such as US News & World Report as one of the best schools in Texas. The school’s mission centers on creating an invigorating educational environment that nurtures responsible citizens equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern world with skill and grace, while fostering a community-oriented and fulfilling life.
The role of Director of Child Nutrition at Meridian School involves overseeing the district’s child nutrition program with a focus on ensuring all meals meet rigorous regulatory and nutritional requirements in compliance with USDA, TEA, and Meridian’s Local Wellness Policy. This pivotal leadership position requires planning and implementing programs that promote sound nutritional practices among students, while maintaining sanitary and safe food service operations. The Director will be responsible for developing menus that fulfill established nutritional standards, managing federal funding reimbursements, and directing the process for free and reduced lunch applications under federal guidelines. As a professional operating in a busy and service-driven school environment, the incumbent must harmonize the operational aspects of food service management with educational goals, budget control, and personnel leadership. Meridian School values highly qualified candidates with expertise in nutrition, dietetics, or restaurant management, and requires certifications such as ServSafe Manager along with proven experience in food service management. Offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience, the position also comes with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Meridian School is committed to equity and diversity, providing reasonable accommodations during hiring and employment, and ensuring equal opportunity for all applicants regardless of protected characteristics. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional passionate about child nutrition, committed to educational excellence, and eager to make a meaningful impact in a respected charter school setting.
