Job Description
SFC Colorado Springs LLC, operating as Sticky Fingers Cooking of Colorado Springs, is a distinguished children’s cooking school devoted to enriching young minds through the art of cooking. With hundreds of locations nationwide, Sticky Fingers Cooking offers after-school enrichment classes and summer camps designed to inspire children's creativity, teach healthy cooking habits, and foster a lifelong appreciation for nutritious food. As a hospitality-focused institution, Sticky Fingers Cooking emphasizes positive communication, teamwork, and an engaging learning environment. The organization is passionate about providing educational experiences where children can enjoy hands-on participation in preparing delicious and healthy meals, nurturing both practical culinary skills and an understanding of nutrition.
Sticky Fingers Cooking is currently seeking a part-time Director of Chef Operations (DoCO) to join their team in Colorado Springs. This pivotal role involves managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the programs within a designated territory, in close collaboration with the Area Director. The DoCO will oversee the training, scheduling, and support of chef instructors who lead the classes and camps, ensuring a seamless educational experience for the students. Utilizing proprietary technology platforms such as The Dash™, the Director of Chef Operations will assign instructors to their classes, maintain open and encouraging communication with staff, and handle administrative responsibilities including managing timesheets and HR systems.
Ideal candidates for this position will be organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, with a passion for children and cooking. They must demonstrate leadership skills to foster a supportive and positive work environment that promotes staff engagement and retention. Since most chef instructors work part-time and may have multiple job commitments, the DoCO must provide flexible and thoughtful management, ensuring instructors feel valued and motivated. Additional duties include conducting interviews and onboarding, coaching team members, managing schedules, and facilitating ongoing training and team meetings. The role requires proficiency with Google platforms and Excel, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and educational company dedicated to cultivating culinary curiosity in young learners. With a salary range of USD 36,000 to 60,000 per year, the part-time Director of Chef Operations will play an essential role in shaping the quality of children's culinary education and supporting the team that delivers these enriching experiences. Joining Sticky Fingers Cooking means being part of a mission-driven organization that values creativity, nutrition education, and the joy of cooking for kids. If you are enthusiastic about leadership in a children's cooking school environment and eager to help nurture the next generation's love of healthy eating, this role offers a meaningful and engaging career path.
