Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Catering Sales Manager to join our team. The Catering Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the catering department's success by soliciting banquet and catering sales business proactively. The individual will be responsible for responding promptly and professionally to all inquiries related to the catering services. This leadership position requires directing the catering department’s daily activities with a focus on maximizing profitability from booked business. Negotiation expertise is essential, as the manager will handle event contracts involving detailed discussions on menu selections, bar setups, room arrangements, and coordination with other hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.

In addition to sales and negotiations, the manager will prepare and maintain comprehensive reports including sales recaps, organization contacts, and the upkeep of the catering function book and file system. Budget management is crucial, with the need to meet or exceed sales quotas while continuously driving innovative strategies to increase catering revenue. This role demands a strategic thinker adept at developing overall sales action plans for the catering and sales efforts, targeting both existing markets and potential new ones. Close collaboration with the hotel's executive management team and General Manager is a fundamental aspect of this position to align catering objectives with broader business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of the hospitality and catering industry, and a proven track record in sales and event coordination. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or related field
  • minimum 3 years experience in catering sales or hospitality sales
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • proficiency with sales software and Microsoft Office
  • availability to work flexible hours

Job Duties

  • Solicit banquet and catering sales business
  • receive and answer all inquiries relating to the catering department
  • direct the activities of the catering department to obtain maximum profit from available business booked
  • negotiate event contracts including menu suggestions, bar set up, and room arrangements
  • share negotiated details with other departments within the hotel
  • prepare and maintain reports of sales recaps, organization contacts, catering function book and catering file system
  • maintain budgeted sales quotas and create new ideas to increase catering revenue
  • develop overall sales action plan for catering/sales effort for all existing and potential markets
  • monitor specific action plans for each segment developed by Catering Manager and ensure they achieve booking goals
  • act in concert with hotel management team and property General Manager
