Job Description
Brink's is a globally recognized leader in cash and valuables management, digital retail solutions, and ATM managed services. Founded with a commitment to securing commerce, Brink's operates across 51 countries and serves customers in over 100 countries worldwide. This includes partnerships with financial institutions, retailers, government agencies, mints, jewelers, and other commercial operations. As a publicly traded company on the NYSE under the ticker symbol BCO, Brink's has built a reputation based on reliability, integrity, and innovation in the secure logistics industry.
At Brink's, the culture is built upon values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company is dedicated to fostering an environment where employees feel respected, safe, and valued. Brink's emphasizes equal opportunities for all employees to grow, contribute meaningful work, and build careers within the company. Their culture encourages engagement, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas to ensure that every voice is heard.
The role of Director of Lean Operations at Brink's is a pivotal leadership position focused on driving enterprise-wide transformation toward operational excellence. This role is strategic and hands-on, responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, advance efficiency, and deliver measurable business results across all business units. The Director will act as a change agent and coach, bringing Lean principles and methodologies to life within a complex, service-driven operational environment.
This position offers a dynamic opportunity to influence national strategy while working closely with operational and senior leaders. It may be based at Brink's headquarters in Coppell, Texas, or within the Midwest/Mid-Atlantic operational region, covering markets such as Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas. The role requires substantial travel (50% to 70%), reflecting the importance of hands-on leadership and direct engagement across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing Lean strategies that align with Brink's business growth objectives, championing a culture of continuous improvement across all organizational levels, and owning the operational Lean Roadmap to ensure consistent methodology adoption. The Director will partner with leaders to set performance expectations, deliver coaching, and build Lean capabilities within the organization. This role also facilitates Kaizen events and other improvement workshops to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and enhance customer service delivery.
Beyond operational execution, the Director of Lean Operations is accountable for standardizing and scaling best practices to ensure sustainable, repeatable outcomes. The role involves designing and delivering training programs to foster Lean adoption across operations, administration, and line-of-business functions. Staying current with industry trends, technology advancements, and benchmarking against global best practices is vital to innovating and evolving Brink's operational excellence initiatives.
Moreover, the Director integrates Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback into Lean efforts to continually improve customer experience and operational responsiveness. This individual will lead critical strategic programs focusing on optimizing production planning, logistics routing, resource allocation, and workforce deployment.
Ideal candidates are visionary leaders with a strong operational mindset and the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams. They possess excellent communication skills, a data-driven analytical approach, and the agility to drive change within a fast-paced and matrixed environment. Preferred qualifications include Lean leadership certifications (Bronze or Silver), a relevant bachelor’s degree, and over ten years of progressive experience in Lean or operational excellence roles. Experience in multi-site operations or logistics is advantageous.
Brink's commitment to equal opportunity employment and a drug-free workplace underscores its dedication to building a diverse, inclusive, and ethical work environment. This role offers a challenging, rewarding career path for candidates passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement in a global, impactful organization.
