The role of Director of Internal Communications at Valleywise Health is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's employees are well-informed, engaged, and connected to the overall mission. This full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week, is responsible for developing and implementing effective internal communication strategies that resonate across all levels of the organization. The director's work supports employee engagement initiatives, facilitates cultural alignment, and promotes operational readiness through clear and timely messaging.

Serving as a trusted partner to senior leaders and stakeholders, the Director will oversee the creation and dissemination of a variety of communication materials including executive messages, leader talking points, crisis and emergency communications, newsletters, intranet content, and recognition storytelling. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, demanding strong leadership, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments. The communications developed by this position help unify the workforce around organizational changes and updates, fostering transparency and trust.

The anticipated salary range for this position spans from $113,734 to $167,752 annually, reflecting the organization's recognition of the importance of this role and its commitment to attracting top talent in the field of communications within healthcare. Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in journalism, english, public relations, marketing or related field
  • at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related field
  • strong writing and communication skills
  • experience designing and implementing communication strategies
  • knowledge of healthcare services preferred
  • leadership skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
  • discretion with confidential information
  • proficiency in written and spoken english

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in journalism, english, public relations, marketing or related field
  • master’s degree desirable
  • at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related field
  • five years supervisory or managerial experience preferred
  • strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • knowledgeable in communications best practices
