The position of Director, Food Packaging at Shorr Packaging is a critical leadership role that acts as the subject matter expert for all aspects of food packaging within the company. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional passionate about marrying market trends, customer demands, and supplier capabilities into actionable strategies that drive business growth. The Director, Food Packaging will be responsible for developing and executing clear go-to-market strategies, supporting sales enablement, and ensuring pipeline execution that leads to consistent revenue and gross margin attainment. Responsibilities extend to partnering with sales representatives to craft and implement effective territory and account plans, identifying new business opportunities, managing pipeline rigor including deal reviews and forecasting, and maintaining deep expertise in food packaging applications and quality standards. The role involves leading cross-functional pursuit teams to scope, price, and win strategic packaging programs while ensuring smooth transitions from sales to implementation.
Moreover, this leader will build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers to support joint selling efforts and expand Shorr Packaging's offerings in the competitive food packaging space. Effective pricing discipline, financial acumen, and commercial strategy development are also critical elements of this position. Shorr Packaging offers a competitive annual base salary range of $180,000 to $220,000 for this full-time position. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering food science business or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in food and or beverage packaging including materials equipment automation or contract packaging
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute go-to-market and business development strategy partnering with sales teams to drive pipeline win rates and profitable growth
- Working knowledge of food safety and quality systems and customer requirements such as SQF HACCP principles GFSI environments sanitation hygienic practices and ability to translate into packaging solutions
- Experience partnering with operations plant teams co-manufacturers co-packers and suppliers to implement packaging programs from trial through commercialization
- Strong analytical financial acumen and presentation skills comfortable building business cases and communicating to executive stakeholders
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office demonstrated discipline in pipeline management forecasting and activity reporting
- Proven consultative selling skills including prospecting discovery solution positioning and negotiation comfortable leading executive-level conversations and complex deal cycles
- Ability to influence cross-functionally and lead through ambiguity strong project program management skills to drive timely execution
- Proven ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers experience negotiating programs pricing and service levels

Job Duties
- Set and execute go-to-market strategy for food and beverage packaging including target segments value propositions and growth priorities
- Partner with sales reps to build and execute territory and account plans including opportunity identification stakeholder mapping and close plans
- Drive new business development and strategic account growth by leading customer discovery solution design proposal development and executive-level presentations
- Establish pipeline rigor for food packaging opportunities including leading deal reviews maintaining CRM improving forecast accuracy and driving revenue and margin attainment
- Maintain deep knowledge of food packaging applications and performance requirements and translate that into sales messaging and solution recommendations
- Support reps and customers in meeting food packaging expectations and standards by coordinating resources and ensuring requirements are incorporated
- Lead cross-functional pursuit teams to scope price and win strategic food packaging programs ensuring strong execution through implementation
- Develop proposals and commercial strategies supporting negotiation through close
- Partner with finance and leadership to manage pricing discipline margin performance and track program profitability
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with supplier and manufacturer partners to support joint selling and expand portfolio
- Support customer onboarding and implementation for strategic wins ensuring solution delivery and platform for retention and expansion
- Track and report business performance for the food packaging segment and recommend adjustments to improve results
- Lead and influence across the sales organization by setting priorities coaching execution and driving accountability
- Create and deliver sales enablement including training talk tracks competitive positioning and playbooks and provide joint customer call support
