The Director of Food and Beverage-West Region at FirstService Residential provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all food and beverage (F&B) programs across the managed communities in the western region of the United States, including California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Colorado. This vital leadership role collaborates closely with association boards, developers, and on-site management teams with an aim to enhance resident experience, improve operational efficiency, drive revenue growth and profitability, and ensure accountability for financial performance across all food and beverage operations. The director develops and implements best practices and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent, high-quality service standards. They also lead talent acquisition and development for F&B teams, offer hands-on operational support, and actively participate in budgeting, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.

This position reports a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $150,000 annually, with an additional 15% bonus incentive. Candidates are expected to be highly experienced leaders with strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work onsite as needed to support operations. The role demands extensive travel, approximately 75% of the time, including some evenings and weekends to attend property events and ensure adherence to service standards. The Director will have matrix responsibilities for community F&B leadership alongside community general managers and association boards.

This role requires a bachelor's degree in Food and Beverage Management or a related field and at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in F&B operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of bar operations, casual and upscale dining, kitchen procedures, and financial management of operations including budgeting and profit and loss oversight. Strong skills in service excellence, team leadership, employee training, and problem resolution are essential to succeed in this role.

Job Duties

  • provide leadership support and operating expertise in food and beverage as a value-added service to managed communities across the region
  • drive increase in additional food and beverage revenue, profits and loss accountability to operating budgets through financial reporting and operations
  • lead customer service and resident experience improvements through development and improvement of standard operating procedures and best practices
  • create implementation plans to support the execution of food and beverage programs, products, pricing and menu changes in conjunction with the association board, developer and management teams
  • conduct evaluations and present recommendations, strategic options and business plans to associations
  • support growth and sales process to communities with food and beverage operations
  • assist with talent needs of food and beverage teams including recruitment and development
  • manage food and beverage teams to maximize profitability and develop a service culture
  • work on site to support and/or cover for property position deficits
  • practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards
