The role of Food and Beverage Director at Callaway Resort & Gardens is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations across the resort. This position involves strategic development and implementation of plans to meet business goals while enhancing the overall guest dining experience. The Food and Beverage Director manages the day-to-day functioning of the department, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and staffing. They lead a talented and diverse team comprising chefs, cooks, servers, and bartenders, guiding their development and ensuring high standards of service are maintained at all times.
In this role, the director fosters strong relationships with local suppliers to procure the highest quality ingredients and products. They collaborate closely with other departments such as sales and marketing to coordinate offerings for events, seasonal promotions, and special occasions. Compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies is paramount to maintaining operational integrity and guest safety.
The Food and Beverage Director is expected to remain current with industry trends, incorporating innovative ideas and concepts into the resort's food and beverage offerings. They develop and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality throughout the department. Managing guest feedback is also a vital part of the position to continuously improve service offerings and guest satisfaction.
Additionally, this role includes managing internal communications to ensure the entire resort team is informed and prepared for all events, programming, and daily interactions with guests. This leadership role also involves overseeing departmental marketing budgets to maximize return on investment and achieve revenue objectives. This position requires a minimum of seven years of experience in food and beverage management, including at least five years in a leadership capacity, and a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage trends, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. The position demands flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in food and beverage management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large team
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of current trends and innovations in food and beverage operations
- Experience managing budgets and forecasting financial performance
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience
Job Duties
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for food and beverage operations to meet business objectives and enhance the guest experience
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage department, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and staffing
- Hire, train, and motivate a high-performing team of food and beverage professionals, including chefs, cooks, servers, and bartenders
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure the highest quality products are used in food and beverage operations
- Work closely with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to coordinate food and beverage offerings for events and special occasions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate new ideas and concepts into food and beverage offerings
