The role of Director of Food and Beverage at Saint Kate is a strategic and leadership-focused position responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations and culinary outlets within the hotel. Serving as a key member of the Executive Committee, the Director of Food and Beverage plays a critical role in driving the hotel’s strategic food and beverage programs, enhancing profitability, and ensuring operational efficiency. The individual in this role is expected to maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel to support and engage both guests and associates, thereby fostering a positive, dynamic environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and high performance.
With a strong focus on guest satisfaction and food quality, the Director leads initiatives to improve service standards while aligning closely with other hotel departments to ensure cohesive operational success. Financial oversight is a significant responsibility in this role, encompassing labor management, expense control, budget adherence, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth. The Director is also tasked with strategic planning, including participation in weekly forecasting and scheduling alongside annual budget preparation. Additionally, the role involves monitoring market trends, managing vendor and customer relationships, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, and supporting associate development through retention efforts and career growth programs. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- five plus years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience
- three plus years in executive-level role in high-volume hospitality settings
- knowledge of food safety and service standards
- financial management experience
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
- ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- excellent communication and leadership skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality and high integrity
Job Qualifications
- Five plus years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience
- at least three years in an executive-level role within high-volume hotel, restaurant, catering, or resort environments
- experience in full-service hotels preferred
- strong knowledge of food and beverage operations and food safety standards
- demonstrated financial acumen managing P&Ls, forecasting, inventory controls, and capital expenditures
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
- strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
- strong understanding of local market trends
- exceptional leadership and team development skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
