Job Description

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, a prominent Single-A baseball team, are part of a larger sports and entertainment organization operated under the DBH portfolio. DBH is recognized for managing a series of sports clubs with a focus on delivering outstanding fan experiences through quality food and beverage operations among other services. The team emphasizes a culture of leadership development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to maintain its position as a leader in the sports entertainment industry. Within this dynamic environment, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes offer an exciting and impactful role designed to cultivate future leaders in food and beverage operations.

The Director, Food & Beverage (F&B) Operations is a pivotal hands-on leadership position. This role supports and executes the daily concessions operations for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes during games and events. Despite bearing the title of Director, this is a developmental and high-impact opportunity aimed at grooming the individual to step into a full concessions leadership role within the DBH-operated clubs portfolio. The role's responsibilities span managing game-day operations, supporting club leadership with staff planning and execution, maintaining standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness, and leading the development and training of the concessions team.

This position provides a comprehensive exposure to key business functions, including labor management, cost control, and revenue optimization, crucial for any senior leadership role in the food and beverage or hospitality industry. The Director will also be instrumental in implementing promotional activities, menu updates, and operational initiatives, thereby driving successful concessions operations. A key element of the role is active problem-solving on the ground during events to ensure seamless execution and high guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business hospitality management or related field preferred
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in food and beverage or hospitality operations
  • Proven supervisory or management experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced live-event setting

Job Qualifications

  • 3-6 plus years of experience in food and beverage hospitality or venue operations
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required
  • Experience in high-volume environments such as sports entertainment hospitality or similar preferred

Job Duties

  • Support and execute all aspects of concessions operations during games and events including staffing setup service and breakdown
  • Act as a visible hands-on leader during events to ensure smooth efficient operations
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges in real time to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction
  • Partner with club leadership to support overall concessions performance including staffing plans inventory and service execution
  • Assist in maintaining high standards for food quality cleanliness safety and presentation
  • Help identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Assist in recruiting onboarding and training concessions staff and supervisors
  • Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback to part-time and full-time team members
  • Support the development of strong frontline leadership within the concessions operation
  • Gain experience in key business functions including labor management cost control and revenue optimization
  • Assist in tracking performance and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Support implementation of promotions menu updates and operational initiatives
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of concessions operations within a high-volume sports environment
  • Build leadership and management capabilities through hands-on experience
  • Gain exposure to DBH standards and operational expectations
  • Be considered for future Director F&B or equivalent leadership roles within the DBH portfolio as positions become available
