Job Description
Baby2Baby is a renowned national non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in need with essential items such as diapers, formula, clothing, and other basic necessities. Operating across all 50 states, Baby2Baby serves more than one million children annually. Over the past 15 years, the organization has distributed over half a billion items, making it the leading entity of its kind. These vital supplies are given to children in vulnerable situations such as homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals, underserved schools, and those affected by disasters. This impactful mission has earned Baby2Baby significant recognition, including being named the #1 non-profit on Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies list and being highlighted by TIME Magazine as one of 2023’s most influential companies. The organization’s commitment to enhancing the lives of children in crisis situates it at the forefront of child welfare advocacy in the United States.
The role of Director, Events at Baby2Baby offers a unique opportunity to drive community engagement and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Development, the Director, Events is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of programmatic community events, chiefly focusing on the operational management of inventory, event logistics, and warehouse coordination. This role centers around managing Baby2Baby’s three major annual tentpole events: the Mother’s Day, Back to School, and Holiday distributions. These large-scale events require meticulous planning and resource management to ensure that physical goods are effectively sourced, tracked, stored, and distributed to families in need through high-volume, well-coordinated operations.
The Director, Events will collaborate extensively with internal teams—such as Programs, Warehouse, Volunteer, and Corporate Partnerships—to secure program supplies, manage sponsorship deliverables, and guarantee that families receive the needed essentials. In addition to overseeing the distribution events, the role manages logistics for significant volunteer activations and key internal stakeholder events, including Board and Angels meetings. Support for the organization’s annual gala also falls within the scope of this position.
This position is based in Los Angeles, California, requiring the Director to work on site three to five days per week at Baby2Baby’s headquarters. As a leadership role, the Director, Events will manage a small team of two event staff, providing guidance and operational oversight to ensure seamless event execution. The role demands a highly organized professional with excellent communication skills, a proven ability to manage multiple projects, and a passion for the organization’s mission. The compensation for this role ranges from $105,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Working within Baby2Baby means joining a team that values diversity, innovation, and making a measurable difference in the lives of children facing hardship.
