Job Description

Encore is a leading global event technology company specializing in providing high-quality audio visual and event services primarily for hotels, convention centers, and other large venues. Known for its commitment to delivering world-class service, Encore supports a diverse array of customer events ranging from conferences and corporate meetings to large-scale entertainment productions. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and innovation, Encore has established itself as a trusted partner in the events industry, offering tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of its clients. The company culture emphasizes collaboration, high performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for all team members.

The Director, Event Technology (DET) for Small and Medium Events (SNE) is a pivotal leadership role driving the overall success and profitability of assigned Encore locations, with venue revenue ranging between $450,000 and $900,000. This full-time role reports to senior leadership such as the Area Director, Regional Director, or Regional Vice President of Venues. The position involves managing a small team of fewer than two full-time employees and nurturing key relationships with venue personnel to enhance business partnerships and ensure client retention. The DET is directly responsible for achieving revenue and profitability targets, overseeing operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standard of service quality.

This includes managing day-to-day operations such as labor scheduling, equipment setup and maintenance, ensuring timely equipment delivery, and addressing any technical challenges that arise during live events. The DET will also act as the primary escalation point for events, guaranteeing seamless execution and client satisfaction. Strategic sales management and business development are core to the role, requiring the Director to create effective revenue-maximizing strategies, deliver compelling presentations, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Additionally, the Director fosters a positive, performance-driven environment by coaching and mentoring team members to help them develop their skills and uphold Encore’s service standards. Through active participation in business reviews, financial reporting, and forecasting, the DET plays a crucial role in aligning local operational goals with broader company objectives. This role demands a blend of hospitality expertise, leadership skills, and technical proficiency, making it perfect for a motivated professional passionate about event technology and client satisfaction. The salary range for this position is $47,632 to $61,922, with compensation varying based on experience, location, and other factors. Encore offers competitive benefits and is committed to providing a culturally inclusive workplace where employees are recognized for their unique strengths.
