The role of Director of Event Services at Legends Global, reporting to the Assistant General Manager, is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all personnel, subcontractors, and daily operations crucial to the success of events and the safety and security of Desert Diamond Arena. This role encompasses comprehensive management of front-of-house operations during events which includes Guest Experience, Parking, Event Security, Police, and Medical services, alongside the venue's 24-hour Security functions. The Director leads the Event Services Department which includes Guest Services, Security, 24-Hour Security, and Parking divisions. Leadership responsibilities also extend to direct supervision of the Guest Services Manager, Security Manager, and Parking Manager. The position demands strong collaboration with multiple internal departments, promoters, tenants, tour security and production managers, and external community and city stakeholders to ensure alignment on event requirements, public safety priorities, and guest experience standards.

Key responsibilities of this role include planning and executing event services tailored to each event's unique profile and contractual obligations, managing and reconciling the Event Services operating budget with fiscal discipline, and serving as the Event Services Manager on Duty during assigned events to ensure safety, guest experience, and building protection. The Director is expected to continuously monitor guest feedback and incident reports to foster ongoing improvements in service delivery and operational efficiency. They must also identify performance gaps and drive solutions including enhanced technology or targeted training that promotes guest service, conflict resolution, ADA awareness, and safety competencies.

Moreover, the Director develops and implements emergency operation plans, incident response protocols, and departmental policies to ensure comprehensive preparedness and response. This role significantly contributes to fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture by coaching managers and supporting both full-time and part-time staff in aligning with Legends values and service standards. Vendor relations including security, guest services, and parking contracts fall under the Director’s purview, ensuring smooth day-to-day contract management. Additionally, the Director represents Event Services and Desert Diamond Arena at industry forums to integrate new trends and best practices into operational strategies.

This role requires extended and irregular work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the demands of live events and venue operations. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • eight to ten years experience in event operations
  • five years supervisory experience

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports/Event Management, Hospitality, Public Safety, or related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • eight to ten years of experience in public assembly facility, arena, stadium, or large event operations with five years in supervisory or management roles
  • experience leading guest services, security, and parking for large-scale events
  • track record in budget preparation, management, and reconciliation
  • experience designing and delivering training programs on guest experience, safety, and crowd management
  • familiarity or willingness to learn emergency management systems ICS and NIMS
  • experience working with public safety agencies and contract security partners preferred
  • professional certifications related to venue management, security, or safety preferred but not required
  • strong leadership skills
  • knowledge of operational procedures and event services
  • skills in budget, contract negotiation, business law, labor relations, and staff supervision
  • understanding of crowd management, security, and risk mitigation principles
  • emergency planning and response skills
  • ability to use security and event technology systems

Job Duties

  • Lead the Event Services Department including Guest Services, Event Security, 24-Hour Security, and Parking
