The Director of Dining Services - Education Sector position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, including an annual bonus incentive, health benefits, 401K, and paid time off. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful launch and ongoing operations of a major dining account within the education sector. Reporting directly to the Resident District Manager, the director will oversee service consistency, food quality, operational excellence, and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing hourly associates, monitoring consumption to minimize waste, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards including HACCP and OSHA guidelines, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Director of Dining Services serves as a proactive leader and mentor, providing hands-on coaching and training to a diverse team to elevate skillsets and achieve outstanding results. Collaboration is a core aspect of this role, as the director works closely with fellow directors, executive chefs, and cross-functional leaders from marketing, finance, human resources, communications, and dietetics. This collaboration ensures flawless menu execution, consistent service delivery, and adherence to best practices. Candidates must demonstrate strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage budgets, operational logistics, and client relationships effectively. The ideal candidate is ServSafe Certified and proficient with various computer programs including Microsoft Office. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in hospitality, nutrition, culinary or related field
  • Minimum five years of foodservice operational management experience
  • Proven supervisory and leadership capability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Financial and budget management skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to comply with HACCP and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to perform essential job functions

Job Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Hospitality, Nutrition or Culinary or related field
  • A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related education experience preferred
  • Five plus years of direct foodservice operational management experience
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate on various levels including management, client, customer and associate levels
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and the Internet
  • ServSafe Certified

Job Duties

  • Manages hourly associates in the Food Service Department
  • Oversees the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account

  • Performs other duties as assigned
