Job Requirements

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees
  • Food handler's permit as required by state law and/or company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company or personal vehicle
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with company motor vehicle policy standards

Job Qualifications

  • Five or more years of culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Food handler's permit as required by state law and company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to meet and comply with company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Experience in staff management and leadership
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise all culinary services staff including scheduling, assignments, direction, performance reviews, hiring and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high levels of satisfaction
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager or coordinator to provide exceptional customer service and restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff work closely to exceed food product expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed, including working all kitchen and dining stations
  • Work with executive director and frontline staff to maintain customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores
  • Delegate tasks to staff to maintain high cleanliness and quality standards
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service meet company and health code standards
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • Interview and hire culinary department staff
  • Conduct and participate in monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manage monthly and annual culinary department budgets, including documentation of food, supplies, and labor expenses
  • Plan and develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Ensure purchasing standards and positive vendor relationships
  • Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborate with community sales director to market the community with culinary events
  • Ensure kitchen and restaurant staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
