Job Description
Learfield is a leading media and marketing company that specializes in collegiate sports and entertainment. With a rich history and a strong presence in its industry, Learfield connects passionate fans, brands, and partners through innovative marketing solutions and exceptional content experiences. Recognized for its commitment to excellence and a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and community, Learfield champions creating relationships that bring the excitement of college sports to life.
The Director of Corporate Events at Learfield plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s comprehensive event strategy that showcases the organization’s culture and strengthens its industry presence. This leadership position involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of high-profile events, including major industry conferences, exclusive networking gatherings, and signature parties tied to renowned sports events such as the Final Four and the College Football Playoff. The Director is responsible for ensuring that all events reflect Learfield’s standards and foster meaningful engagement with clients and partners.
As the leader of the corporate events function, the Director of Corporate Events develops and implements strategic initiatives in collaboration with multiple stakeholders across marketing, communications, sales, partnerships, and executive leadership to align event objectives with overall business priorities. This position requires expert-level planning and organizational skills to manage the full event lifecycle from concept to on-site execution, including venue selection, logistics, production, and hospitality arrangements. The Director must also oversee vendor partnerships, negotiate contracts, and manage event budgets to ensure cost efficiency without compromising on the quality and impact of each event.
In addition to managing the operational aspects of event delivery, the Director conducts post-event evaluations using attendance data and business outcomes to continuously enhance the effectiveness of Learfield’s event programming. A key responsibility is to lead and inspire a dedicated corporate events team along with external agencies, cultivating a culture of attention to detail, creativity, and excellent service. This role demands a hands-on and strategic approach combined with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects in a dynamic environment.
This is a full-time leadership opportunity ideal for a seasoned corporate events professional with at least eight years of experience managing large-scale conferences, executive meetings, and client hospitality events. The successful candidate will possess strong project management capabilities, a proven track record in vendor negotiation, and an ability to foster stakeholder collaboration. Willingness to travel is essential to support the delivery of events across various locations.
Learfield’s comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees includes medical, dental, vision, health savings account, life insurance, additional insurance plans, flexible paid time off with a minimum of 10 days annually, parental leave, 20 paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, and short/long-term disability coverage. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious practices, national origin, pregnancy or related medical conditions, protected veteran status, or disability.
